Very nice Imrahil. I notice that you kept the "Raiders" TT for the spine. I had initially kept that TT on my spine as well until people complained that it would look out of place on the shelf. Your covers are of course much better than the ones I worked on months ago.

I recall one of the challenges was extending Indy's hat on Crystal Skull. The poster chopped the top of it off. Eventually I will switch out that cover art for the alternate poster art.

anyway someone can send me a scan of the watchmen motion comic blu-ray cover? I recently picked up a copy of the ultimate cut but it was missing the case for this, yet the disc was placed where the digits copy usually goes, so I bought a blank blu-ray case and just need the art now.

Okay, so these are for DVDs and not Blu-Rays, but my cover contributions are so sparatic and spread out that I figured I'd go ahead and post these (I hope no one minds).

So, being the geeky fellow that I am, I collect many cartoon series from my childhood on DVD. Amongst those is the original 80s-90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. The street date for the 10th and final season is this coming Tuesday, but I happened to find a copy at my local Best Buy on Friday that was already out and picked it up.

I'm not sure if anyone else here has followed these releases, but they have been rather convoluted. When they first started releasing the series, they were released as "volumes" rather than seasons, even though the episodes were still pretty much in order. They made volumes 1-6 which altogether made up the first 3 seasons and the first episode of the 4th (and volume 1 acually also had a handful of episodes from the final season as a bonus). After that they started releasing them as seasons, starting with Season 4 (and therefore repeating the last episode of Volume 6), which varied in length, number of discs, and packaging type (Season 5 in particular was in this weird-ass pizza box packaging).

Also, while almost all of the episodes were released and pretty much in order (depending upon what episode guide you go by), 2 specials which happened around Season 5 were previously skipped, but were included as bonuses on the new Final Season release.

Anyhoo, since the packaging is very random and doesn't really look all that great lined up on the shelf, I decided to do something about it.

I actually have several 12-disc DVD cases laying around. A while back I burned a bunch of old family videos to DVD-Rs for my mom and made copies for several family members, and placed a bulk order for these cases which was fairly cheap (and they came in specific increments, so I had several left over).

It works out pretty well because there are 23 discs in total. The first 6 volumes (which make up the first 3 seasons) and Season 4 total 11 discs, and seasons 5-10 end up on a total of 12 discs. To take things to an extra geeky step, in order to not have an extra empty disc hub, I actually swapped out one of the two-sides (to hold 2 discs) pages/trays from the first case with a single disc one from one of the actual TMNT cases to make it an 11-disc case.

The resolution on the cover art leaves a little something to be desired. I searched high and low, but really good high-res artwork based on the original series is kind of difficult to come by, and what little I could find just wasn't right. I ended up finding some fairly decent (not perfect, but decent) images sans text that were actually used for a couple of the VHS releases many years ago, which I used for the covers. The spines line up to make one picture of the 4 turtles, the logo, and text that says "The Complete Original Series". Rather than trying to make an "official" looking back cover with bar code, technical specs, etc, I just went ahead and listed all of the episodes on the backs for functional purposes.

The back of the second box cover has a lot of little images that were actually produced for the "Turtles Forever" movie from a couple of years ago where the 80s Turtles met the 200X series Turtles. The only image on the back of the fist box is of Krang. The reason for this difference is because many of the discs in the first box set (particularly those "volume" releases) had more episodes crammed on a single disc, so the text took up more space on the first set than the second.

So, yeah, that was a lot of writing and explanation for what are relatively mediocre and "pedestrian" covers

Anyhoo, here are some images of my completed covers printed up.....

Has anyone ever made matching covers for the Transformers movies? I was planning to put Dark Of The Moon in a Blu-ray case instead of the Megatron Figurine packaging it came in, and while searching for a cover for the movie it struck me that the design of the 3 movies releases doesn't match at all.

Would be nice to have some Transformers covers in the style of those Batman covers of Nichart, with matching artwork and a spine that forms an image when they're placed next to each other.

I'm loving that JCoM cover. I might be contacting you once I pick that disc up. Have you guys by any chance seen the custom slipcover thread? Might be worth checking out and adding your expertise there. Back on point, has anyone done a custom of the Wal Mart Harry Potter 2 BD's sets? Picked these up for my mrs. and would love to give them a more uniformed look.

What is the exact kid of paper I should ask for when I go to FedEx? I've tried printed before and it never works out, I buy the wrong paper or it prints way too big. Also I got the Star Wars blu ray but I want to keep the special features discs from the previous releases...can anyone direct me to a cover that was made for those discs?
