I order a video game last year from Amazon for release day shipping which was terrible since they shipped it through UPS. They usually ship late to my house. I am planning to buy TDKR cowl from Amazon release day shipping. Will they ship UPS?

No one can predict that, but whatever their most frequent shipping method to you is, that'll most likely be it. I much prefer when they ship via UPS to me, as opposed to OnTrac.

If I'm reading the poster correctly, pre-orders start tomorrow, these pre-orders get shipped on October 19th, and the disc is available to buy at shops (not order online) in December.

So they're pulling a Fox with releasing the disc for online order early>?
I really hope they are pulling a Fox with this. Loved the movie and can not wait for it to come out.

I'm pretty surprised that the trilogy gets released at the same time. My thought that was that they would put out the third movie and then, knowing that people would buy it right away, then double-dip for the box set. I guess they are kind of offsetting that with the Ultimate Collector's edition.

To clarify:

The poster is meant for retailers, not consumers. These are the dates for the retailer (say Best Buy, for example) to place their order for how many of each SKU they want, in this case beginning tomorrow and all orders needing to be in by 10/19. Then, the street date for them to sell it us 12/4.

So, no, we will not be getting the opportunity to score the disc two months early. Yes, retailers will often get the discs in 2 weeks early (maybe 3 at most on select SKUs) and certain mom and pop stores and online sites will break the date (I got my TDK Blu-Ray online two weeks before the date). But no way in heck anyone is getting in October.

SERIOUSLY?

Where in BX? I might pay it a visit

I got my TDK copy 2 weeks before the street date...but not in October. I would be insanely happy if I could score it in October.

You were probably told 3 weeks BEFORE release but not IN three weeks. That's when they show up. We both probably hit all the same stores.

Do you have Prime? Because before I had Prime, I always got stuff late. They would wait to ship an item until it releases, where if you have Prime they estimate how long shipping will take and ship it so that the estimated arrival date is the street date. I am pretty sure amazon does this deliberately to persuade people to pony up that 80 bucks a year.

Really hope the US trilogy looks like the UK version! If not, looks like I'll be importing!

Any word on if Best Buy will have a steelbook pre-order for TDKR (like they did for The Avengers)? Apologies if this has been discussed already.
