Yeah but that's still an insane price for one Steelbook.

Does anyone know if the digital copy is dual redeemable through Vudu and ITunes or just one or the other. Also if you redeem the DMR is the ITunes still available?

Got to my Best Buy a little after 11 am and all the steelbooks were sold out already. I really wanted that steelbook too. At least I was able to get the Loki 3D combo version from Target.

Had a ***** of a time trying to get the Steelbook from Best Buy. I bought it online for store pick-up at noon. Got an e-mail saying it wasn't available at my store. Spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to find one at a nearby store. Drove a half hour and when I got there, the case was pretty bent. They called 2 other stores nearby and they both sold out minutes before they called. I ended up getting the damaged one because it was either that or drive over an hour. Suffice to say, I'm pretty pissed right now, both at Best Buy's failure to have a reasonable number of cases and their shitty customer service failures.

Disney's digital copies are never dual redeemable. If you redeem them in one place, you can't redeem them in the other. One time use.

That said, now that Disney has launched their new Disney Anywhere service, they kind of have become dual redeemable. Disney Anywhere works off Disney Movie Rewards first, and then off your iTunes account. So, for people who have redeemed the DMR points and digital copies via Vudu, they're now seeing those titles in Disney Anywhere and iTunes. It was very unexpected, but I can confirm that all of my Disney digital copies that I redeemed via Vudu are now showing up in my iTunes account in HD.

I'd expect this "loophole" of sorts to be addressed, but as of right now, it seems that you can get them in both Vudu and iTunes if you redeem the DMR code for points and the digital copy code for Vudu.

Don't know if he/she was joking or not but in the Steelbook thread, there is a person that indicated they had purchased a bunch of them...maybe 15.

I understand most people use Vudu as their primary UV provider, but it's still important to point out that Disney movies are not UV., since they are folks who can't use Vudu such as Kindle Fire owners, Android owners whose devices can't use the Vudu Android app, etc and then think they can watch their Disney Vudu movie on Flixster (which has a UV provider that has wider support).

How do you link your Vudu account to your iTunes?

Yup, same thing happened to those Dark Knight Rises Cowl set statue set when it was released. They were going for 130 buks when you could still often times walk right into a store and get it.

You don't.

The Disney movies a person has redeemed digital copies for via Vudu can get added to iTunes now if you link your iTunes account to your Disney Movies Anywhere account. The Disney Anywhere account pulls information from Disney Movie Rewards. So, if you buy a movie and redeem the points via Disney Movie Rewards, that movie can now make it's way into your iTunes account via Disney Anywhere.

I redeemed the digital copies for Iron Man 3, Monsters University, Oz the Great and Powerful, The Lone Ranger, and The Jungle Book all through Vudu. I also redeemed the DMR points for them. Now that I have set up a Disney Anywhere account (which is connected to my DMR account) and linked that account to my iTunes account, all of those titles are showing up in Disney Anywhere and iTunes in HD for me now. It's all about the DMR point redemption.

Thanks for the link but I think he's asking more than I want to spend for it. I'm only willing to spend about $30-$35 for it right now.

Just did and now I have Iron Man 3 and The Avengers in my ITunes and Disney Anywhere account in HD. Their streaming service isn't bad either plus they have a lot of bonus features. You also get the Incredibles for free right now.

Got to Best Buy around noon and it was the same story. A waste of my lunch break. I just got the standard 3D edition. Oh well, I guess I'll have to live without the steelbook.

Thanks man. Does this transfer iTunes to Vudu? I have several of the Marvel titles on my iTunes account but would prefer to view them on Vudu

Yeah I wish they would let it be UV supported because I do use my Flixster account sometimes. Does anyone know if the Disney anywhere service works on Kindles and other non-VUDU devices?

No. There is absolutely no connection made here between Vudu and iTunes. The connection is between iTunes and Disney Movies Anywhere/Disney Movie Rewards only. Right now, this is just a Disney/iTunes thing.

Just watched All Hail to the King, I can see why people are calling this "damage control," but
[Show spoiler]didn't Killian tell Stark he was the real Mandarin at the end of IM3?

I went to BB and noticed they were all out. I was sad and kind of angry, but I just had to make sure, so I went up to costumer service and asked if they had happened to have anymore of the steelbook, they looked up on the computer and said no, but they'll check, and I must've done a very good deed in my life because they had the last steelbook back there! Now I'm smiling! It's a good day!
