So then the officials got it wrong in that game. As for whether the play can be reviewed the NCAA replay guidelines state

Quote:
Limitations on Reviewable Plays
ARTICLE 6. No other plays or officiating decisions are reviewable. However, the replay official may correct egregious errors, including those involving the game clock, whether or not a play is reviewable. This excludes fouls that are not specifically reviewable (Reviewable fouls: Rules 12-3-2-c and d and 12-3-5-a and 12-3-4-b).
According to the 2009 NCAA rules committee Article 6 (above) was included after they reorganized rule 12 (Replay) to classify reviewable plays according to type of play in question...which appears to be what was previously posted

Looks like that settles it.

Nebraska fans, coaches & players just need to accept that they gave it away and puked down their leg in spectacular fashion and move on. Also, they might want to look into gettting an offense for next year.

I think he'd be a good hire. He is well known within the Big 12 and could do a good job recruiting the area. I would also like to see more minority head coaches in BCS conferences. I believe right now Randy Shannon is the only minority head coach in a BCS conference, although Florida defensive coordinator is the front-runner for the Louisville job. I'm not saying Gill should get hired only because he's a minority though. He's done a good job in Buffalo, which he took from a laughingstock to a respectable program, although they didn't do very well this year.

Agree completely, Gill deserves his shot. NBC's halftime show last night was discussing the state of coaching and minorities last night. Basically Tony Dungy was saying that it's easier for a minority coach to get a job and become a head coach in the NFL than in college. Kind of shocking. Then they went through the numbers and sure enough, Shannon is the only Minority coach of the 65 BCS schools (is that number right? 65?).

There were a lot less assistants than I thought there would be too..

Virginia has hired Richmond coach Mike London. London won the FCS National Title last year and fell to Appalachian State Saturday in the quarterfinals. London's hire brings the total African-American coaches in FBS to 10, as Memphis and Western Kentucky recently hired African-American coaches. Unless something happens Charlie Strong and Louisville should make it 11 in the coming days.

As much as I wanted Tebow to lock it up again theres no way he should get it especially after that disaster of a SEC ship game.

His numbers were at their best in big games?

I didn't think he had a shot at the Heisman, but I thought if 5 names were in the draw, he'd be 1 of the 5. I'm really glad to see Suh in there, he plays like a man amongst boys, but defensive players never win. Ingram or Gerhart will take it.

I think had his whole season been like the Gt, FSU, Miami and TCU games he'd have won it, but because he had allot of real quite games especially when they needed him verse a team like SC (except for that opening kick off) thats what cost him.

I'd say Ingram or Gerhart( if its true they wanted someone other then a QB), I'd love to see Bama get their first player.

But it wouldn't shock me if Colt won it.

I gotta say Suh. It may be seen as homerism, but I truly believe he's the best in the nation. That dude just manhandles everyone (except Kansas).

Never even heard of the guy until mid-way through the year, and never saw him until Saturday.

He's good, no doubt about it. Hope he has an excellent NFL career.

But it's a shame if he (or Tebow) wins the Heisman. Ingram deserves it.

Can someone explain to me exactly what the qualifications are for the Heisman? I've always thought that it was specifically an offensive player award, as that is all I ever recall seeing win it.. but I see Suh is a defensive player.

It's an award for the best player in college football. Charles Woodson is the only defensive player to win the award, but he was also a very good returner and played some receiver and he would not have won the award if he purely played defense.

I think Suh deserves it but will end up second or third. I watched 3 of his games and he was an absolute beast. Without him I think Nebraska was a 3 win team. I think Colt McCoy will get it. I don't think he deserves it, I'd put Suh, Ingram, and Gearhart ahead of him, but voters will look at what he's done in his career, despite the fact that the award is supposed to be only based on the current year. McCoy only played 2 good defenses all year (Oklahoma, Texas) and he got completely shut down in those games. In those games the offense scored a total of 29 points and McCoy had 4 interceptions and 2 lost fumbles. He also didn't top 200 yards passing in either game and only had 1 touchdown pass and one short rushing touchdown.

Ok thanks. Of course I'm rooting for Ingram. He's been fabulous all year. There are some that have more yardage... but the thing that is so great about Ingram is the way he is able to continue to make forward progress after contact. Almost half of his yardage is AFTER contact yardage. It's really impressive to watch him move past two, three and more attempted tackles.

I think he dropped off a bit towards the end of the season, but he came through big time in that championship game, and thats what he needed...

What I'd like to see is

Ingram
Gearhart
Suh
McCoy
Tebow

Kinda surprised here. He finished last season in the same manner and was projected a first round draft pick had he come out last year.
