Noticed that Studio Canal re-submittted The Fifth Element to the BBFC (31st January). Possible they might be taking a swing at an UHD release.

I ordered the US version last week, after years of waiting on a UK one .

I'm not buying again after I wasted money on the German one.

Even if it is the same master - though Leon would throw some doubt onto that assumption - then it'll just have their customary mediocre encoding on it anyway.

Hopefully StudioCanal manage to combine the Sony extras with the Pathe extras, and maybe even the Universum extras. They’ve managed to retain US extras for quite a few releases e.g. Leon, The Elephant Man, Murder on the Orient Express, Flash Gordon, The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, John Carpenter.

What extras are exclusive to the Pathe and Universum Blu-Rays?

I tried to watch The Fifth Element a couple of times, and I just couldn't get through it. Chris Tucker was too annoying.

I really need to rewatch my copy, as its been a couple years, and now on a better TV to spot some of the stuff I'm seeing brought up. Won't be upset if I have to buy a better version through Zavvi.

I'm seeing an out of stock message after clicking on the link, with an August 2020 release date.

Zavvi's steelbook listings say "out of stock" until the pre-orders go live. Which will be the 2nd of June according to the post you quoted.

Incidentally, I love that it's got the multipass as the inside art

I love this movie and didn't upgrade to the 4K yet, however I refuse to buy a steelbook. If it ever hits 12.99-14.99 again please bump this thread.

People are already complaining about the multipass

Anyway, if this is a different master. Will be interesting to see what the DV does for it outside of being dynamic.
