Infinity War is the first good/great Avengers film. Joss Whedon is just not good and his exit was exceptionally positive for the franchise.

As long as we're talking franchises...

Alien, Predator, First Blood, Rocky, Die Hard, RoboCop, and The Karate Kid are all great first movies, but the rest of their respective franchises are considerably lower quality.

Not saying I am against sequels. Back to the Future, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and the MCU are all strengthened by their collective franchises.

I agree. And I get tired of people saying that Rambo: First Blood Part II is better than First Blood.

By far, It's frustrating that the first movie knocked out the park then just got progressively worse. There were elements of MoS greatness in BvS but it was littered with problems, and less said about SS and JL the better.

Wonder Woman is the only one to buck the trend but is only marginally better than BvS
