I know but something made motion blur more pronounced for me. The only difference I'm aware of between this and other movies' frame rate is the recorded high frame rate of Billy Lynn. Maybe the downsampling messed with motion blur, frame packing, interpolation, blah blah blah. Idk really

Vremya pervykh (Spacewalker)

Russian movie based on true events and set in the1960s. It's about the race between the SSSR and the US to get the first man in open space (the "spacewalk").

You can think of it like a blend of Apollo 13 and Gravity. Very well made big budget production. The main characters are a bit too flawless heros for my taste but this is similar in Apollo 13.

Here we have another very nice medium native 3D. Pleasant to look at. But every once in a while, there are absolutely breathtaking shots (mainly open space shots) that get your jaw dropped.

Now for the bad news (to most of you): Region B and only German subtitles.

Hi Shaggy,

Nah. Just wait for the 3D motion picture to come out on IMAX. Casting call begins next week!

Watched: War For The Planet Of The Apes

NICE 3D presentation!! Detail and depth were great. The 3D scenes were held just at the right amount of time to really soak it in. Dimension was used in effective ways. I love the visuals in this flick. Very nice imagery. This is the kind of 3D presentation that makes me stick with 3D and not bother with 4K.

Tell me about it lol. I have resorted to storing many movies in the big boxes we get from Costco. Each one holds a good 50 to 60 blu ray movies. I need to do something with all my old DVD's that just take up space and never get watched.
Today my Smurfs 2 3D blu ray showed up from an eBay seller. Waited for a long time to find one with the lenticular cover. Ended up getting it for around $10 shipped so was a great bargain.

Russian audio? Verma Pervyh translates to time of the firsts or age of the pioneers (trailblazers)

Havn't gotten around to posting so I make a summary of all the 3D movies I have seen over the past weeks:
(the first two titles I watched on a LG UH8500 the last title was seen in reald 3d)
Thor (2011)

TBH I think that the 3D in this is underrated. I found it to be much better than other 3D marvel films like Thor Dark World and Iron Man 3 which look almost completely flat. While there is nothing spectacular in this 3D conversion it does look decent and I now plan to watch the 3D version whenever I watch this movie.
The Avenger (2012)

While the 3D in this films is better than Thor and very good for the most part I feel the 3D in here is very overrated. Everybody would talk about how The Avengers is a must see in 3D and while I agree there are some good scenes none of it comes close to either Guardians film, Doctor Strange or the next title I will talk about.
Thor Ragnarok (2017)

Yeah let me just state that I saw this in a more run-down theatre in realD 3D cinema. I was able to see a free screening so the choice in 3D was not an option. There was a lot ghosting in the film due to the theatre I went to but when it worked it looked really good. Not quite Guardians 2 tier but around Doctor Strange tier instead (still really good). I really hope this gets a US 3D release as I can't wait to see how this looks on my set.

You need a Spinning multimedia tower!

I keep my 500+ Blu-ray 3D titles in one tower that only takes up 18 inches of floor space and is 61 inches high. Every title is available for view & access.

Have 4 other towers to shelve the rest of my almost 3,000 discs with room to spare.

Watched Titanic - the 3D was great! Wish more movies were as good as this one was. Deciding what to watch next, I have a lot of 3D Blu-rays to get through!

Then I was browsing YouTube, and came across a compilation video - the scene with the snake coming out of the screen is pretty awesome! Are there any movies I should bump in my queue that utilize pop-out 3D effects like this?

I have a tv/entertainment cabinet that is currently full and a media bookcase that's full as well. I really need to overhaul my storage for them and also put some of the unwatched stuff in storage or sell them off.

Some movies I buy more than one copy if i know they are going to be collectible like the Moana 3D steelbooks in the picture or the Doctor Strange. I get one to open and one to set aside. I was thinking of bundling the Doctor Strange with a 3D steelbook copy of the GOTG2 on ebay to help it sell quicker. Haven't had the ambition to put together an auction.

Hi rrrwinder.

I might not be that far behind you. Yes, all my older DVDs are nicely displayed on storage racks in the hallway but they are hardly watched anymore and not the focal point of my collection either. But don't want to get rid of them - having already sold many I no longer wanted.

They are kept separate from the blurays and 3Ds. Don't want to combine them at this point.

Would consider the spinners but because I have sciatica would have to get them pre assembled and that runs into lots of money. Have already looked.

[QUOTE=Paul H;14306368]You need a Spinning multimedia tower!

That’s a really good solution, thanks (although you have a lot more space for those towers than I do). I had seen similar towers online but was concerned about build quality, etc. These look sturdy and higher end than a lot of others I’ve seen.

I just passed the 500 mark for my 3D Blu-ray collection a few months ago as well so we’re pretty neck in neck. I don’t have many regular blu-rays however because until I got my first 4K 3D television I never purchased movies. I went to the theater 3-4 times per week and rarely watched moves at home. Now, I rarely go to the cinema. I mostly limit my collecting to premium steelbooks, 3D & 4K movies unless it’s a flick I hold dear to my heart. Streaming provides CLOSE to blu-ray picture quality and saves a ton of space.

Question:
Where did you get that version of Big Hero 6 3D with the yellow spine? EVERY other 3D Disney film I own has the Disney 3D logo located at the top of the spine and they all match perfectly and create a uniform look EXCEPT for RATATOILLE 3D & BIG HERO 6 3D which have the Disney 3D logo located on the BOTTOM of the spine! It’s silly but it really bugs me to only have 2 out of place. I already have three versions of this film but maybe I can sell one to purchase this.

Thanks!
