I think that's partially right. I think they have QBs that can throw a forward pass now, like the Big 12 had. That mighty LSU D got shredded today.

I think you know the answer to this as well as I do. Larry Coker and Randy Shannon ran our program into the ground. Al Golden has built us back up, it's been a long process, but now we're ready to rise to the top again. I can't wait for our showdown in a few weeks. This is not the Miami of the past few years, I promise you that.

I'm not delusional at all. I have a lot of confidence in my team, and am fairly confident we will beat Florida State. What kind of fan would I be if I didn't believe in my team. We have a lot of talent across the board, and have another great class coming in next year. The U is back.

I think it's a trickedown effect. The passing game has taken over college football, much like it has in the NFL. Even the SEC has become pass-first. Hell, even high school football is seeing the change. When I was in HS in the late 90's it was almost entirely about running the ball. These days it's all passing.

Fan is short for fanatical, but the U is not back. Getting there but nowhere close to being ready to compete for a NC. That's when you'll be back.

Oregon's offense looks just as good as it was under Kelly. They scored 66, 59 and 59 in their first three games and have 41 at halftime against Cal.

I think we are really close to competing for a national title, perhaps next season. I think we'll make a BCS bowl game this year, which I would call being back. We have a real shot at 11+ wins.

My pick for their next head coach is Sarkisian. He's done a terrific job at turning around Washington. When he took over they were coming off an 0-12 season.

I wonder what happens with Lane Kiffin. He was terrible with the Raiders (but every coach is terrible with the Raiders), had one so-so year with Tennessee, and was relatively mediocre with USC. I can't imagine a major program giving him a chance. I wonder if he would be willing to take a job coaching a lower-level school in a conference like the MAC, if he'll go somewhere as an offensive coordinator, or if he'll just try and go into TV.

I love that Kiffin got fired in the LAX parking lot. They were so anxious to fire him that they couldn't wait until the bus ride back to USC's campus.
