I just bought the collection. I had GoW 1 before but never got into it. This will be fun.... I can't wait to try them out and see how I do!

I got the trophy for the collecting 20 Cyclop eyes yesterday. I did it outside the Temple of the Fates. 2 get called at a time and i needed 18 more eyes, so i thought "why not" and continued to slaughter those beasts.

Finished GoW for the very first time a few days ago. Love the game. Looks great. Can't wait to start hauling ass in GoW2 and then GoW3.

Just finished part 1 of the collection last night. I got started on part 2 around 2 in the morning, can't wait to get in some more game time later tonight. Never played that part on the PS2.

Wow i think i JUST realized something lol. In GOW2,
[Show spoiler]you meet Cronos via hologram and are given his backstory about how he's Zeus' father. Since he's a Titan and judging by HOW he looks, isn't this the SAME Cronos who carried the Temple of Pandora on his back? What happened?!?!
lol

Smile Another GOW newbie!

For some reason I had this game mixed up with an RTS game that kind of also deals with fighting giant gods and what-not.

Anyway, I was checking out the other God of War thread and decided to check out the God of War website. That's where I noticed the promo for this set. So, since I got a gift card from Target I decided to pick this up! Can't beat 2 games for the price of 1!

All I can say is WOW! What have I been missing!

This game is awesome. Sure, it's a little dated (but not really THAT bad and doesn't affect my enjoyment at all), but I can only imagine what III will be like on the PS3.

For me, the boss battles FEEL like a battle. I get hand & finger fatigue from all the button smashing and how hard I grip the controller, but I like it! I actually FEEL like I'm in a big battle myself. And what's brilliant are the execution of the mini games and having to repeatedly press the O button to do certain things against certain enemies, and all that.

Same one.

I realized something as well while playing through the second one again (1st was on the ps2).

[Show spoiler]While talking to Atlas in GOW2, he recognized Kratos for the one who put him in his predicament (holding the weight of the world on his back) .

Since GOW2 came out prior to chains of olympus (the game in which kratos did that to Atlus) Did they redo some of the cutscene? I don't recall how it was originally.

Another question:
Chains of Olympus ends on the Cliffs overlooking the Aegian Sea, signifying this is prior to Kratos attempting suicide. Since the actions in the first game are all flashback from three weeks prior, where does the timeline for GOW1 and GOW chains fall with each other?

Anyone else having freezing issues? I have a launch 60 gig and I'm stuck in GOW2 at the point where you have to lower a gate then quickly use an air vent to get over the same gate as it's raising. You then kill some wolves and undead soldiers and open a door. The game freezes all the time once I open the door.

I reverted back to older saves and got back to the same area for the same freeze to happen

I've disabled the network connection to no avail.

I'd delete game data if there was any, but there's not.

any ideas?

As of right now, I stopped playing and I'm waiting on a patch for the game or a firmware update for the ps3.

It's annoying as the game has been out for over a month and theres still no word.......

I ended GOW2 over my Christmas vacation and it's simply amazing. I will probably run thru GOW 1 and 2 again so I can stay fresh for GOW 3.

Not sure it's Hot-Deals worthy but Amazon has this for $29.99 now.

Yeah I just saw that and I'm tempted....I think if they made it a little cheaper I would bite on it immediately, but my backlog is kinda growing right now so I'm not sure if I'll get it, still tempting though.

Just finished GOWII last night. At the very last button pressing mini game I must of got chopped in the head about 10 times. LOL. I don't usually play a lot of games except for Uncharted and the Final Fantasy sagas but this game ranks right up there with them. I'm happy I found out about GOW. Now I have to let my fingers rest and tell my 2 year old daughter not to say those words I was saying while I was playing the game.

Who actually did the remaster on the GOW collection? Was it Santa Monica Studios or Sony? I can't imagine that SMS would allocate time and resources to the collection during the last stretch of work on GOW3, but could be wrong.

I'm more surprised at the number of people that have never played the first 2 games, considering they were in the top 10 list of virtually everyone for greatest PS2 games. It really worked out to benefit both Sony and SMS, and I hope other companies remaster some of the older greats. I would love a remaster of Snake Eater, as playing it on the PS3 on a 1080 LCD makes the screen really small.

Just started playing this tonight.

First time ever playing either game. Little dated on the gameplay, but the graphics look top notch for a "PS2" game. They did a great job... at least I "think" they did, as I never played them on the PS2, so I have nothing to compare it to.

Got it for 29.99 and I had a 25$ gift card to Amazon... Worked out nicely.

I'm stuck at where the Kratos moves the box in a room where the spikes go up and kills you instantly when you don't get up at the ledge on time trying to get the second necklace...argh I tried 50 times or even more already.
