I don't think Marvel seem that interested in Namor for some reason. I'm sure they could have secured the rights from Universal when they obtained The Hulk. Universal on the other hand has held the rights for so long, it's no wonder they never attempted to do something with them or tried to sway Marvel with it. The time may still come when Universal attempts to use the character as a bargaining chip, but it'll be Marvel's level interest that will make it worth anything to either studio.

But I need to repeat my desire to see Namor AND the Fantastic Four together at Marvel. I know Namor was around a long time before the FF came along and he was used throughout the entire Marvel Universe and not just restricted to the FF corner, but he primarily was used more as a support character to the FF, even moreso than his affiliation with the Avengers. It is the bizarre love triangle between him, Susan Storm and Reed Richards that was always prevelant in my mind whenever Namor showed up in the FF title. How the rights to Namor and the FF characters weren't licensed together is confusing, because Dr. Doom, Galactus and the Silver Surfer were all part of the Fantastic Four deal that Fox obtained.

Probably has to do with the stigma that I seem to be seeing against superheros with water-based abilities.

That green woman is absolutely stunning, bit ironic since Uhura's roommate in the 2009 ST film was green.

Apparently the new still from Marvel caught Director James Gunn by surprise...

As the still isn't the final image from the film either. As they made changes to Rocket.

James Gunn: “Thanks, guys. I had no idea they were putting this out as the image (although I had read over the press release a number of times, trying to eliminate spoilers!) This was an image we put together in a couple weeks just for Comicon. I have worked a lot on Rocket since this time, so in the final movie he will look a little different.”

Not surprising since it is a pretty generic image of the team standing in a line in a stance so the next image(s) and the trailer(s) should be a lot more exciting.

I agree and I think that's the reason Marvel is so blase' when asked about the character. If they act like they'd really want to have him back---that bolsters Universal's bargaining position.
So the closer they get to the point where Universal has to start or punt the project the better it is for Marvel.

Marvel acted all uninterested when Daredevil was about to revert back from Fox offering to let Fox have an extension just for the rights to Surfer, Galactus and the Watcher, but voila---less than 18 months after reversion they announce a TV series featuring Daredevil.

This was just shot from Comic Con yesterday, right? The date on YouTube shows 1 December 2013 for some reason. I think it's a glitch.

Hmmm.... I'll see this because I am a huge MCU fan. However, I can't say that I'm all that excited by what I've seen so far. Then again, I'm also completely unfamiliar with the characters and their comics.

Apparently Tony Stark is one of their main allies so I expect him to be in this but in name only since he blew up all his suits and won't be seen in the armor again until Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.

Since Black Widow is in Winter Soldier, I imagine either Tony or Thor will appear in a small cameo. Marvel likes to keep the ball rolling.

If I recall, RDJ will only be in A2 and A3, he signed a 2 picture deal IIRC. This means no cameos. He is likely too expensive for cameos at this stage. Unless he enjoys doing this character as some sort of Passion, and does one out of good will because he wants to appeal to his fans. But I don't see that happening. Would I enjoy it, absolutely!
