Why? They have to be doing ot for the fans and the love of the property.
Do you really think they'd bother if they could still get real work? Katee Sackhoff in that R-rated Power Rangers thing was the exception. What do Thom Matthews, or some random final girl from the eighties, have going on except for convention appearances?

I'm sure he's being compensated for his time and effort, so what's the harm? And if he genuinely loves doing it, then all the better. "Legit" paying work is sometimes more questionable and degrading than anything you're going to do for kicks (as pretty much anyone working a regular job can attest at one time or another). Why is there always an assumption that these actors are only doing fan films or convention appearances because they're desperate or something?
Yea I'll hold off with any excitement until there is something officially said. But again, in the meantime, I would love a Pamela Voorhees story on Netflix or Paramount+.
They should give us Uber Jason on Earth II. Have it be the 1980s on that earth and have him killing everybody….give us some bouncin boobies and maybe even some floppy johnsons to really get the crowd going.
Have David Cronenberg come back as a guy who lives near the lake…hey maybe it’ll be his johnson…won’t know til we are sitting in the theater.

For whatever reason, "real" actors appearing in fan films doesn't make me want to see them. It just makes me sad.
I don't. A paycheck is a paycheck. I watched one of those Never Hike in the Snow fan films and it was pretty good. It looked better than some horror movies do now.
IGN can exclusively report that Horror, Inc. is expanding the Friday the 13th franchise into a new era with the launch of Jason Universe.
New Friday the 13th activations will span a wide range of platforms from entertainment, games, immersive experiences, merchandise and more to be announced throughout 2024 via @JasonUniverse13 on social media or by visiting the official Jason Universe website.
“For decades, Jason shocked and thrilled audiences who kept coming back for more. We’re excited to work with Victor Miller and Marc Toberoff on new projects we’ll announce in the coming months,” said Robert Barsamian, President of Horror, Inc., in a statement provided to IGN.
Victor Miller was the screenwriter of the original Friday the 13th movie who reclaimed the domestic rights to the original slasher film in 2021 after a lengthy lawsuit. (Miller, however, is not part of Horror, Inc.)
Barsamian, who funded the original 1980 movie and exec produced some of its sequels, is an executive producer on the upcoming A24 and Peacock expanded prequel series Crystal Lake (which originally had Hannibal’s Bryan Fuller aboard as its showrunner before he parted ways with the project last week). Barsamian was also an executive producer on 2017’s Friday the 13th: The Game.

This just seems weird. There aren’t enough characters for a universe. It works with chucky and would work with hellraoser and phantasm, but I can’t see it working with Jason
