Yamadas is a brilliant comedy that tends to get overlooked or crapped on by western fans more concerned with form over content when it comes to animated films.

Why are a bunch of the GKIDS Blu-rays suddenly only available from the marketplace sellers on Amazon? I don’t even see “temporarily out of stock” on the listings.

That's not looking good on Amazon. Wonder if GKIDS cut ties with them for all of their Studio Ghibli releases.

I would think it would have more to do with Shout! Factory, since they're the ones actually distributing these newer Ghibli releases.

Yeah, the Shout! Factory releases didn't get nearly as much distribution as the Universal ones, at least from what I've seen, but I guess that's to be expected.

I have seen them in Wal-Mart and Target at least, and seem to be just as plentiful there as the Disney editions, from what I can tell.

I was gonna get another Ghibli on Amazon but many of them were changed to marketplace. A few weren't so I decided to get Kurenai no Buta (Porco Rosso).

Glad I was able to snag a few at the 12.99 price point (with slipcovers) before this happened.

As of right now, it looks like many of the Shout! Factory GKIDS releases are still only available from the Amazon marketplace. However, the DVD releases for some (like Kiki's Delivery Service) are available direct from Amazon. I wonder what is going on. I would assume it was low stock, but if that is the case why doesn't it say "Temporarily Out of Stock"?

If there's marketplace price that's lower than the price Amazon has, doesn't it favor the one in stock even if it's not sold by Amazon? That's what Walmart does.

I wasn't familiar with their DVD sets, but reading the reviews definitely confirms it's a bootleg set. Pretty crappy one too.
