The comics industry started getting really greedy around the beginning of the 90’s, not just with he increased prices, but in trying to sell more and more by shopping around all the characters. Like 5 or 6 X-Men related titles going on at once, having Wolverine appear in everything, too much cross-title stories where you have to buy a comic line you normally don’t to get the whole story etc etc. Diluted the product and the characters Then to top it off, Hollywood completely takes over the industry from New York and the whole industry became wimpy wishy-washy politically-correct pablum for the weak-minded. Then kill off or completely alter hundreds of classic heroes just to make a temporary buck. At any rate, if I became a multi-millionaire it would be cool to get into comics again, but I would only be buying pre-1990 or so.

Oh, and really looking forwards to this release!

I would assume it's a play on the "handbags at ten paces" slang which derived from "pistols at dawn". In the UK there was a period where when two ladies would go at it during a night out they'd smack each other with their handbags, at the time they were quite ineffectual weapons. So when men have a confrontation with very little fisticuffs, they're described to gone at each other with handbags. A similar phrase would be "we came to see a fight not a dance".

Today the climate's changed somewhat, when you piss off a lady during a night out she'll take off her stilettos and try and stab the offender in the face with them.

I used to watch shooting stars which is where the handbag mame comes from, the funny one was when he would say "Ohh pink fluffy shopping bags" when they were being a bit gay over it all.

Criterion is releasing it? Does that mean that the WB release is cancelled?

Will we get the special edition cut, the TV cut and the ludicrous speed cut on 4K?
