Good point, though the short lived cartoon show seemed more contrived/forced.
I caught the first episode and knew it couldn't match the mood of the movie, which was funny, though in a way not everyone finds humor in. They had the opportunity and chose to let it pass. As a result, a sequel that will never happen.

BLADE 4:
Now that Wesley Snipes is free, and doing Expendables 3, I'm sure he was hoping for a new Blade movie as he suggested in interviews. Marvel has the rights back again, removed from New Line Cinema last time I checked (Entertainment Weekly report).

My guess is Snipes would have to license the rights on his own and produce the movie if possible. A little bit like how Vin Diesel had to work hard to get the 3rd movie, Riddick finally out the door.

This time, the Night Stalkers from Blade Trinity would be MIA, and Blade would again take the spotlight of kicking every vampire's @ss single handedly. I'm betting Snipes would hire a new writer also if that was the case.
Snipes I heard is a method actor, which has its strengths, but can also isolate himself from others.

Anyone know what happened to the prequel of The Untouchables...?
Guess it was 'shot' down...

Didn't they do this already, but as a TV special? I swear I remember something, timed with the release of one of their subsequent albums, but I can't find anything on it. Am I imagining things?

You're right, though the follow up was mostly focused on their live performances in concert. It was on DVD but trying to buy a copy or find one new would cost close to 100$ or so last time I checked.
I got the special edition CD/DVD release a few years back where they released new songs and interviewed each of the elder Tap members, though it didn't capture the same humor of the movie nearly as well.

I'd like a sequel where the original cast as old guys goes back on a re-united tour and ends up hitting the theme parks "Puppet Show & Spinal Tap" on the billboard. They'll walk on stage with canes.

I thought Ganster Squad might have been a remake, but not the same story or characters once I did research and saw it.

In Untouchables, De Niro as Capone had a small role. They could expand it if they made a prequel. Of course they'd have to put on heavy make up to take a few years off of De Niro. But really, they can use another actor if this happened.

Norrington gave up directing as a result of the poor experience he had while filming The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Sean Connery also gave up acting as a result of the clashes he had with Norrington.

The Golden Compass 2 and 3.. it really sucks they just didn't finish these. at this point the little girl who played Lyra is way to old and they would have to pretty much reboot it to make any sense

A new trilogy is rumored but I haven't heard anything since the first trilogy was released on Blu.

I just saw The Family today and though it will never happen, I would love to see a sequel focused around the children. They were probably the best characters in the film.

Soderbergh promised that we would get Son of Schizopolis, and goddamnit, whenever his little "sabbatical" ends, I want it right away.

I would like to see a sequel to Elektra (2005). I liked the action scenes, characters, special effects and story to this movie and that is why I own Elektra on 3 different formats. There's a better chance a reboot is made than a sequel though.

I'd rather see an Elektra film with good villains.

Anyway, I watched The Long Goodbye earlier and I think that would have been a great start to a franchise.

I never read the comic books and am not familiar with the characters/villains, but what they portrayed in the movie seemed fine with me.

Some I can think of:

The Mummy - Hated what they did with Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, but I wouldn't have minded seeing another one. Especially changing up the setting again which I think is one of the few thing the 3rd one got right.

Green Lantern - I seem to be in the minority because I really enjoyed GL. It will probably never get a true sequel, which is a shame because I really wanted to see more of Mark Strong as Sinestro.

The A-Team - Another movie I enjoyed more than most people, but will probably never see a sequel.

National Treasure/National Treasure: Book of Secrets - From what I understand, Disney is looking into more sequels, but it's been awhile since we've heard anything about a sequel. So, until I see anything, this goes on my list.

28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later - Another set of movies that are supposed to be getting another sequel. But, once again, until then, it's going on the list.

I agree with all of these and would add Fanboys 2
