Damn. I was really hoping 2.2 would be Apple style, and it'd be released immediately following the event. Hopefully a back-alley rom will be available soon.

From What I read its coming in June I can wait a few weeks if need be.

If Verizon screws me on 2.2 (I'm reading tons of reports that sprint and Verizon hate the openness and features google is adding) I'm dropping them paying the easy 300 and getting a nexus.

You should be pretty safe with the Droid. The Droid, Nexus, MyTouch and G1 (although there's debate about the G1 getting 2.2) are the only "raw" Android phones, I believe, or what they consider the "Google experience", so they're pretty driven on keeping those phones up to date. The only problem with the Droid is that you're dependent on Verizon for the update rather than just Google.

That just jogged me, the MyTouch, for those who care, is supposed to get Sense with the next update, which is scheduled to be 2.1. So 2.2 may not be in the cards for the original MyTouch, but the new MyTouch Slide is supposed to get 2.2, according to HTC.

TechCruch and Engadget are reporting that they received the 2.2 update to their Nexus One's last night . . . hopefully us peons will see it sometime later today!

Aren't Adobe working on support for mobile chipsets like SGX and Tegra? It should only be a matter of time if that's the case.
