Just placed my order today for 8 replacement cases. Anybody want my cardboard cases for anything when my replacements arrive?

Strange thing with Red Desert on NetFlix...it'll come up into my queue fine as a DVD, bit when I request BD, it goes into a "save" area below my queue and reads as availability "unknown".

As mentioned earlier, I ordered The Man Who Fell to Earth, since it's 25.99 on Amazon.

I haven't wanted to purchase any DVDs, but if I like Night Train enough, I might make an exception.
Night Train to Munich is a great piece of film noir. If you like The Third Man, or any other Carol Reed films or early Hitchcock films, you'll like Night Train to Munich a lot. I'd say it's worth the purchase, even if it's only on dvd. It's only $19.99 pre-order price right now. Not a bad deal.

Let me know when you get your shipping confirmation email. I placed an order for 4 cases last week and I still haven't gotten an email confirmation.

Thanks neo...that's about what I figured. I have The Third Man and love it!

Amazon's got it for 26.49 now. I think I'll wait for B &N and get it for about 15.00. I've already cheated on (2) other titles already!

Every Criterion release has had the same cover as the previously released DVD edition, unless it was a remaster on DVD as well.

Some are slightly different, but not by much. The Leopard is the same art, just brighter and clearer.

The art isn't different, just the framing (since the blu-ray box has different dimensions. So its safe to say that something like Seven Samurai, which is just text, would be exactly the same.

Anyone else looking forward to seeing "Everlasting Moments" on the 29th? It looks like a great movie, from what I could see from the film trailer. "The Leopard" looks like a good movie as well.

After reading so many rave reviews about 8 1/2, I bought it today for $22.00 (new).

Everlasting Moments is one of the titles I'm looking forward to the most. Just reading the plot summary it sounds like the kind of movie I will really like.

Based on your collection, I think you might appreciate Gomorrah.

I would really like to see "The Passion of Joan of Arc" on Blu ray. I wonder what the likelihood of that is.

You've seen Criterion's Vivre Sa Vie BD, right? The footage from The Passion of Joan of Arc, where Anna Karina is in the theatre watching the film, looks downright amazing! Joan is an absolute masterwork, anyway, so this seems like an obvious choice for Blu-ray. I sure hope Criterion agrees!

I haven't seen "Vivre Sa Vie" yet, albeit it is on my list to get. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I don't want to buy any DVD's, unless a movie has a slim to none chance of being on Blu-ray. The aforementioned movie is one of my favorites from the silent era. It would thrill me to read that Criterion will bring it to Blu-ray. I would put this movie right up there with "Metropolis."

Edited to add: Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it.

It looks like one of those movies that is an emotional rollercoaster. Did you find that to be the case? After watching the trailer, my anticipation is piqued.

Well by your username I take it you like Rebel Without a Cause by Nic Ray? So get Bigger Than Life. Easy Choice IMO. Great start to get into Criterion and one great looking blu-ray.
