Texas was driving on their final scoring drive and fumbled the ball. ISU player picked up the ball and started running with it.

About a second after he started running, the whistle blew, calling the play dead. Rule: No fumble.

Replays showed the Texas player clearly was not down, and clearly was not stopped due to forward progress.

Texas proceeds down the field and scores to take the lead.

That's the biggest one, although there were a lot of littler things throughout as well.

The former athletic director at Texas A&M certainly thinks ISU got screwed:

All the Refs did was buy Mack Brown a extra week. The beat down against OU is next week.

Former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is reportedly going to be on the college football playoff selection committee. I don't know how they can justify putting Rice on the committee. I understand they want a diverse mix of people on the committee, but Rice has no background in football. How are we supposed to take this committee seriously if they're just putting pseudo-celebrities on it?

Hah, I new they'd blow this playoff system. Why do they need a "selection committee" anyway? A better solution is just tweaking the BCS formula (getting rid of the crappy computer polls) and putting the top-4 BCS ranked schools in a playoff.

Rice watches college and professional football almost religiously.

Rice is a die hard football fan. She has great knowledge of the sport.

So do I, but I don't consider myself qualified to be on a playoff committee. I think to be on this committee you should be a former coach or AD who has spent virtually their whole life around the game, not someone who is a big football fan.

They're pretty good actually. The Coaches poll is typically very similar to the AP and other polls. Personally I think they should just reform the BCS formula and take the top-4 BCS ranked teams for the playoff. The committee is a bad idea to begin with. Especially considering five AD's (major conflict of interest) are already on the panel.

That's because they use current coaches who don't ever watch games (which leads to many coaches having the SID fill out their ballot), plus they have a huge bias towards helping out their own team. I would expect if they used former coaches and ADs they would make sure that they'd know it's a prerequisite for the committee that you have to watch as much football as possible.

If you can find a completely unbiased committee, I'd greatly prefer that over the BCS which is anything but unbiased.

However, since the odds of finding an unbiased committee is zero, I agree, give me the BCS top 4.

I don't know if this is the right thread or not but, there's a lot of rumors and talk that Texas is going to go after Louisville's AD Tom Jurich. He's the best AD so I'm not surprised, but I HOPE he'll say thanks but no thanks.

Big 12 head of officiating says that the refs were right in not overturning the non-fumble in the Texas/ISU game.

I want to puke right now. I guess the only 5 replays in the world which are not convincing are the ones the Big 12 officials use.

If he's offered that job, that will be tough to turn down. It's Texas, a top five job for any AD or coach.

No they weren't. The ISU player is off and running before the Texas player sits down. Very clear turnover.

Yes, you're right. I thought you were referring to the 2nd time he fumbled. Which was the very next play.

The first one was clearly ISU's ball.
