not exactly sure whats going on here

but wanted to confirm I found three copies on a Target endcap! $28 but PM’ed it down to $25 on Amazon

Found 2 copies with the slipcover at Walmart this morning. Huge slipcover fan here but not sure if I want to drop $28 on this title again just for the slip since I already have them all with the slipboxes plus the 4K & 4K steelbook releases from Lionsgate. And with the original being the only one that seems to be carried in store there is no guarantee the others will get the same treatment so having just the original with a slip might seem out of place in the collection. But I'm sure I'll cave and get it when I see it next time I'm at the store.

If they were doing them all this way I would probably switch to them. I do want my favorites (1-3) in slip form so I can put them with my other Carpenter titles (not grouped with the entire Halloween series), but also in the event I downscale I would prob get rid of 4 onwards and keep just the slip versions of 1-3.

Has anyone who has ordered this from Amazon recently still received the slipbox or have they already switched to the slipcover too? I was going to get this with the $10 off pickup but I wonder if I need to check to see if my local stores still have it in the slipbox to get it from one of them instead.

Well after giving it a little thought overnight I decided to stop by Walmart again after work this morning and pick up the slipped version.

Is it just the first film replacing the slipbox for a slipcover or all five films from SF's first wave of the Halloween films. Hope this doesn't mean H6-HR will be receiving slipcovers instead of slipboxes.

I don't think anyone knows about 2-5 yet since none of them are carried in stores. So we're going to have to wait for someone to snag one online and see what they get.

And I'm 99.9% positive Scream Factory said that Halloween 6-8 will have the slipboxes to match the original 5. And this image also shows them as slipboxes, not slipcovers.

No one’s knows if 2-5 will be slipcovers. It’s already confirmed that 6-HR will be in slipboxes.

Just got my Amazon order. It’s a slipcover.

Unfortunately the 4K disc is significantly scratched in the artwork side. Is this a known issue? As in should I contact Amazon or Shout about a replacement?

Aw, shucks. I just put in the order from Amazon. Now I wonder if I should cancel and see if Best Buy has the slipbox. I really want the slipbox so it'll match Elvira's Haunted Hills and because I like it better than the normal slipcover.

Edit: I cancelled my order with Amazon and placed it with Best Buy instead, with a pickup. Fingers crossed it'll still be the slipbox. Otherwise I'll have to hunt one down

I distinctly recall people jokingly questioning early on about how "limited" the slipboxes would actually be or whether it was just a FOMO gimmick. It turns out, they actually were limited. Huh. I never would've thought they'd throw people a second-chance lifeline by printing slips, too, but hey, whatever works for people. I guess we can expect slipbox scalping to become a thing for these within the next year, unfortunately.

Can you imagine if the second printing with the regular slips had featured the OG artwork? They'd have made even more money because suckers like me would have tried buying them again. They missed an opportunity here. At the same time, thank God for my wallet lol.

The barcode was printed on the slipbox but not on the sleeves, so we all thought that meant the slipboxes were permanent.

Get rid of the dumb new artwork, use only the OG art on the cover, slip, and disc, provide a freshly restored OG mono track (like they did for The Fog), and improve the encoding, and I’ll finally buy it. This will happen eventually, yes?
