Except that’s boring as hell. I’m not looking for realism in a 3-D sci-fi adventure flick. I didn’t want huge chunks of the Avatar films to be flat, but they were.

There are exceptions, most hated the auto software based conversions like in Predator, Jumper, iRobot... i am out on the homebrew conversions as well, would rather watch the 4k flat.

I’m not counting homebrew conversions (except for EyePop, they are excellent) and yeah, the few shitty studio autoconversions would be exceptions, but those are very very few.
