I can't speak for other stores in the country but my 2 received half as many Hurt Lockers than they did ZDT.

Yeah, I'd say Best Buy's SteelBook for The Hurt Locker was more rare than the Zero Dark Thirty SteelBook.

then it's very probable (if the statement about the hurt locker is true and i don't know that it is or isn't) that ZDT is the rarest G2 steelbook? i also found the resident evil steelbook released by best buy to be almost as rare as ZDT.

the big difference is that ZDT had a pre-order and everybody knew about it. the resident evil steelbook was kinda hear say and didn't even appear in best buy sales circulars for that release week. it just kind showed up in the stores and people posted that there was a steelbook from bby for resident evil.

i was lucky enough to get one resident evil and i nabbed 2 ZDT steelies.

Why would you be mad? If I'm correct that was the first ever US steelbook. G2 steels didn't exist that long ago.

AFAIK they existed but for some reason BB used to go with G1 instead of G2.

Not a chance.

Scarface Steelbook is MUCH more rare and I would bet that the Best Buy Hurt Locker is more rare than the ZDT also.

As an aside, looks as though this isn't gonna be the $100 Steelbook that was forecast by some. I've been periodically watching them on eBay and most end in the $35-$45 range, with the occasional (and frankly odd) outlier at around $60. I think two things happened, either this wasn't nearly as rare as was thought it might be, or, the market to own the film is just quite soft, and there isn't a lot of desire to buy it. I'm going to be monitoring the Target Django Steelbooks to see what happens with them, I have one being mailed to me from Target.

There's no way that Scarface SteelBook is "MUCH more rare" than ZD30. Scarface was available at multiple retailers and you could pick one up weeks after release while ZD30 was a BBY exclusive and pretty much gone after the first day or two.
