You just know s**t had gotten serious after the demon says that to him. There's actually a lot of great dialogue that didn't make its way into the movie. It was also surprising to see that the exorcism took much, much longer in the book then it did in the movie. If anything it happened too quickly in the movie. |

![]() But with that being said though, the captian Howdy make-up pales in comparison to the make-up in the 1st movie (courtesy of Dick Smith R.I.P.) I'd love to see the original Eileen Dietz footage even though I'd probably s**t myself. ![]() |

Thats cool ya know, that's your opinion and it's fine. I enjoy both cuts of the film myself. After reading the novel a few times though, I would have liked to see more of that stuff in the film. Especially more of the dialogue between Karras and the demon.

Got an estimated delivery date for Exorcist: Complete Anthology [import] from Amazon.ca. Delivery estimate: October 28, 2014 - November 6, 2014 Hopefully it ships quicker then that, as that is ridiculous. |

That reinforces my decision to switch to the domestic release.. Enjoyed having the crap scared out of me last night watching the directors cut in my man cave by myself.. Man that soundtrack is an aural assault...

To me, feels like it's more Karras' ball game: Merrin's not in the story much; he provides some history, some context...informs our sense of character in the demon--an old foe--but in terms of impact, it's Karras' film. Friedkin actually denies our seeing [Show spoiler]

The box set and Exorcist III Imports are now showing "In Stock" but Exorcist II is still showing 3-5 weeks. I'm going to wait so I can get the pre-order pricing; I'll watch my DVDs in the meantime.

I find it odd that the reviewer for both DOMINION and THE BEGINNING spent so much text on Storaro's Univisium format (which I didn't know of and found quite illustrative) and how the high compression to fit the movies into a BD-25 could be part of the reason for the image softness, but then failed to notice the alarmingly distracting halos on DOMINION (they are everywhere, but specially jarring here), fortunately absent for the most part on THE BEGINNING.

It has absolutely no link to the second film, it's an entirely seperate and stand-alone sequel that makes no reference whatsoever to Boorman's entry. Shame that Legion had to be called Exorcist 3. It's quite a misleading title, I can see why you would ask the question.

I think that's cool. ![]() Also, the ruins of the house scene in the end of II are very similar to the ruins seen in the first film when Merrin goes to look at the statue. Boorman did that purposely. We discussed that in one of our talks. So, years before THE PREQUEL & DOMINION the concept that this struggle had happened previous was first broached in II.
