If anyone's interested, MVD/Oldies.com are having a 50% off Severin flash sale from 10/2 to 10/9. There's a few titles I'm interested in, but $11 for shipping is kind of a rip-off.

But there is / are free shipping threshold(s):

Mind you, that threshold is higher than Kino Lorber, but KL are the kings, so unfair matchup. I have 10 items in my cart, so I qualify. As for the $11, that's what KL would charge if you ordered 4 discs, so it's not that bad.

I didn't notice the $75 free shipping threshold. I would just need to add one more title to qualify. That works for me.

This is what I went for on the oldies.com Severin sale (plus a few titles that were already in my cart...)




A couple of those non-Severin titles in my cart were DVD's which are not in the database ("Good Friday" (2020), and the truly abysmal-looking, "Four Little Shaolin Kongfu Stars" (2007) -- the latter of which I couldn't even find on IMDb, lol!) Also, "Carnival Magic" is one of the worst films ever made...I just didn't want anyone to think I was making an error on a blind-buy or something. Take heed.

THE BLOOD DRINKERS is excellent for anyone that likes very suspenseful, atmospheric horror movies from a Catholic country. This Filipino vampire movie is loaded with all sorts of weird imagery, iconography and deeply sinister goings on. CURSE OF THE VAMPIRES from the Philippines is even more bizarre with its ideas of a vampire "family" curse. Both are highly recommended!

There's currently a Severin sale at Severin.com, but it looks like unless you buy a lot of titles, Orbit and Oldies sales have better prices

I'll be happy to see this back up for those that were not fortunate to get it the first time because this set is awesome. All those films were blind buys for me and I loved all of them especially Dolls. I also consider myself lucky that my boxset was shipped in a paper amazon shipper and it was legitimately pristine.

I nearly swore then when I saw that post above about a new Arrow sale. Forgot completely about the possibility of an Arrow sale in October (had had on my mind when Shout's Shocktober sale and Indicator's next sale would be).

I was late to grab it as I never saw anything that said it was limited, had to pay $89 from Arrow UK site. So if they bring it back again, as they have multiple times already, I guess it isn't limited....the messaging on this set had been unclear from the start to me.

Looks like this is a standard release without the collector's edition extras. Much cheaper at $40 preorder price.
