Sorry for the late response. Yes I did. I will check again this weekend and let you know.

These add-ons are placed on top of my Polk bookshelf speakers (since I cannot use them at the same time) and set the receiver to the right setting for Dolby Atmos and DTS X and bam! It sounds so much better than plain 7.1. I have several UHD blu rays in DTS X and Dolby Atmos that sound amazing (Star Trek Into Darkness UHD is the best) and The Lone Survivor UHD in DTS X blew me away. Puts you right in the action. Don't hesitate getting these add-ons because they will hold you over until something better comes along.
PS. Here is the link to that review http://hdgear.highdefdigest.com/3637...nspeakers.html
Read that review and a few others, for the price I had to pull the trigger! Should be here Friday.

New DTS:X firmware allows yo to not only apply Neural X to DTS:H Master but also Dolby Surround upmixer as well

I was wondering what that symbol was on the panel when I was watching Power last night on the Starz app.

Now I am torned between using Dolby Surround or Neural X, as both upmixers are now available pretty much on any content, and they both sound great...maybe Neural X seems to have a little more punch whe nit comes to background sounds like gunshots, tires screeching, wind, and explosions, but Dolby Surround seems to have a little stronger center/dialogue levels

I use Dolby Surround more than Neural X for now. Mono movies sound better in Neural X only because it is has less flatness than Dolby Surround setting.
I am so thankful the DTS X firmware update added these options as well because "mono movie" has too much reverb and I prefer mono movies being mono single front channel. Maybe because I am older but I don't need older Humphrey Bogart movies in simulated surround sound. I still love the old films as much as the newer ones.

Why don't you like neural x for DTS H Master movies? It sounds fuller than Dolby Surround

Dolby Surround is more rears and back speaker than least front.

X-neural is more balance sound all speakers.

I'm sorry. I was referring to stereo or mono soundtracks. I leave the DTS-HD on DTS-HD not even thinking using Neural X on the 7.1 tracks since DTS-HD does such a fine job on its own. Even Dolby Digital Plus from Netflix I leave alone. I might have to play around with this DTS Neural X in the coming days.

You are missing out unless you have just a 5.1 system

I have the Denon 910 so I have 7.2 channels but using Dolby Atmos add on speakers I must unhook my Polk surround back speakers to hook up Dolby Atmos add ons. I did not realize this was all this receiver allows because I would love the have the back surround AND Dolby Atmos add ons going at the same time. I feel if I use a splitter for the speaker wire I would still be getting only 7 channels instead of the 9 I am wanting. Time to upgrade to a 9.2 or higher receiver I guess.
Plus I am bothered by how much I have to crank up the volume (around 40) when switching the back speakers to Dolby Atmos/DTS X. Normal 7.1 set up volume gets loud at 10 or 12.

But when you play something is DTS-H Master you are limited to 5 speakers, no matter how many speakers you have connected. By enabling Neural X you will be able to now make use of 7 speakers

Finally got a chance to install the DTS: X update on my S710W tonight. I downloaded the update from the Denon site and installed it on a USB thumb drive and followed the directions. Install went flawless. I look forward to watching all of my DTS: X coded movies over the next few nights.

As an X4200 owner, I have been very disturbed by Denon's decision to push the latest DTS:X update /Pandora login fix for the 4200 and 6200 units back to sometime in December. Denon's explanation that it was worried about it's server's crashing might have been reasonable a few weeks ago but surely won't be an issue within a few weeks from now. The Pandora problem has been going on for many months now, yet those of us with 4200s and 6200s have been put way at the back of the line. No offense to those of you with the models below ours but this just plain sucks.

The DTS:X update for a host of new players, including my X3300W, just hit the web. I will be updating mine soon. Check to see if yours is included:

I've tried updating my X3300W and the menu on the receiver says there is no update available. I wonder what the deal is!

My 2.5 month old AVR-2200W just died. It's stuck in protection mode. I have to send it off to have it repaired since there are no repair centers near me. This is the worst time of year for this to happen
