I think the biggest difference will be in the head room. I can crank up my XPA-2 to reference level (80-db in my case) and there is still plenty in reserve.

Nice! thanks for the info Fors*. The UPA-2 was set at a pretty nice price. I hope the UPA-1's go on sale this year... and if the price is anything close to the UPA-2's I might get 3 of them!!

Sure! I wish I could get 3 more, then sell the XPA-3. But that is something for another time.

Thats it? Was it a xmas sale or a 4th of July sale? Kinda surprised the UPA-1 was more than the UPA-2 given that the UPA-2 is more expensive at regular price.

What would really be nice is if Emo did what eD does... If memory serves me right, when eD ships to Canada they deduct what the standard U.S. shipping is and charge us the difference. So if shipping to Canada was a total of $120 and shipping to the USA was $40 they charge us $80.

I would presume that some of the sale prices are dictated by inventory levels. I have noticed that during each of the sales, the prices and featured items have been different.

I wouldn't count on a high volume of XPA-5's. It seems to be a very popular amp and one that they run out of quite often. There is not really a problem moving the supply of them. I know they have continually increased their orders for XPA-5's so who knows? We may be surprised with a great deal on them.

Judd, with the new XPR amps coming soon, do you think they might try to move some of their amps more aggressively than with other previous sales. And if so, do you see the XPA or the UPA series being promoted the most?

Cool. If the the sale price is anything like last years "$249.00" I wouldn't mind getting 2 UPA-2's for my rear surrounds

I don't know if that's going to happen considering the UPA-1 preorder price was $279. Now, I would more than love to eat my words and see them go on sale for $249. That would get me to budge and try out a pair and compare to the XPA-2.
