^I thought so, ordered it this morning. It will eventually hit that Universal $12.99 price point but you'll have to wait a year or so.

Still waiting for mine, got a shipping notice 2 days after they charged my card, now got a delay notice. Mind you I also ordered a few other things in the meantime so they may just be holding it and sending all together? Apparantly a few delays are happening on the set from Best Buy as well. fingers crossed

edit: and my other order came with no Columbia collection, its apparantly sitting in the distribution centre in Stoney Creek for the last 3 days. Not sure what the holdup is. Hell I could drive there and pick it up if I wanted.

Huzzah, my Columbia Classics finally showed up today! And as I was removing the cellophane, I inadvertantly caught the seam of the packaging and ripped part of it up!

I also noticed there was a loose DVD tucked in between Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Stranglove so I assume those are LoA's missing extras? explains the delayed arrival I guess

EXCLUSIVE BONUS DISC INCLUDES:
  • Excerpts from the 1975 TV special celebrating the 50th anniversary of Columbia Pictures
  • “Mr. Attenborough and Mr. Gandhi” Vintage Behind the Scenes Documentary
Given the physical state of the bonus disc housed in a paper sleeve, I'd say they had a bunch of these kicking around that they previously used as coffee mug coasters. They decided to clean house, gather up all the coasters, and package them up for customers of this boxset.

Then what the hell? I mean it's a great set, great packaging, and then they toss in a paper sleeve dvd of 2 extras? Seems weird

It was weird. I was just happy to have the set so I didn't think much of it.

Neither of those extras are related to LoA, so they must have just had them as promo DVDs lying around the Sony Home Entertainment Office and threw them in. The question though is whether you received all of the LoA extras? That was the initial glitch with this set.

Not exactly a deal, but the 4k edition of Cinema Paradiso is 33.62. Same price as the blu, cheaper than UV right now.

Along with the book that is exclusive to the box set, this DVD disc was produced purely to add more exclusive content to the set. It wasn't mentioned in their 1st press release, but appeared in an updated one that also detailed the splitting up of Lawrence & Gandhi onto 2 UHD discs.

I'll take a crack at your acronyms, I'll assume its because they don't have bilingual packaging?

Because Quebec residents only want and watch movies and shows made by studios in their own province and are in their native dialect of French (Quebec french) .
