Was going to buy Blue Monkey, then had a crisis that I buy too many movies and need to cut down, now the site is closed and I really want Blue Monkey.

I got an email saying my order was "completed" on the 20th, which I assume means shipped, but no tracking number.

No need to worry, as stated we had a very large volume of orders to process with limited staff due to the Covid situation. Most of the orders have been shipped but the remaining will be done by tomorrow, we are currently at 9480. We purposely limited the inventory on this title to avoid issues with delayed shipping but likely next time the store reopens it will have to be even less.

The post directly above yours seems to be referencing that title, if you follow it back a page or two. It looks like they will be putting up a small batch when they finish processing the current orders. It looks likely in the next day or two.

Received INSECT/YETI yesterday. I’ve got to say I’m really happy with the presentation on BLUE MONKEY. This is a film that’s been stuck on VHS and my want list for quite some time. The VHS rips floating around are so murky and seeing it in HD is quite the revelation. The transfer is pretty solid. Saturation seems a smidge “pushed” but that’s a minor concern. Detail is strong. Black levels appear normal and grain feels natural though perhaps slightly subdued. It’s heads above the recent PRIMAL RAGE release. Overall, I’m ecstatic to see this finally get the Blu-ray treatment. I only wish there were ANY bonus materials to round out the disc.

Oh, yeah, and the slip glows in the dark.

Does it though? I have a couple DF slips that are supposed to glow in the dark but I've yet to see either glow...(I also have no desire to leave my movies in the sun all day before I watch them..so...)

All the custom emboss slips we put out glow in the dark but just like the old Aurora monster models you have to shine them up with a light first.

I tested mine out last night. I just shine a maglite on it for a few seconds and it glows bright green. I have The Dead Pit, Ator, and Insect and the glow-in-the-dark effect looks good on all of them after shining light on them for a few seconds.

Yes. You have to shine some light on it first and the it’ll glow when the lights are out. I joke about the glow slips but they are neat enough, I just don’t think the glow effect warrants the price increase on these titles.

Still, BLUE MONKEY is a pretty stellar release On the restoration front. Credit where credit is due.

I hate the way the glow in the dark slips look. The parts that glow are discolored and have a weird look. Would just prefer regular slips.

It's nice to hear the DF seems to be improving on the restorations though.
