What do you offers us? Links to articles about potential new products and services and from here your paranoia takes over and you ALWAYS predict that an existing product or service will be greatly reduced, or even perish, as a result. Anything new MUST kill something old.

No, my views come from a extension of that stuff. I have often thought about half that stuff before even reading it and that’s the truth. Especially the short form content, that stuff has been in my thoughts for a long time now. Besides, I always offer an extension of any links with my own thoughts on where things could go.

By the way, in my opinion, it was a really trashy move by you to post those links in the other thread. With that and the way you spoke to Alchav the other day, you have shown your true colours imo.

All I did in "the other thread" was quote you. I posted links to your own words that simply showed some of your other predictions and, by doing so, how they are all related. I illustrated the pattern of your predictions by doing nothing more than letting you speak for yourself. I did not make any further comments about what you had written.

This is the post that is almost entirely a list of links with YOUR words:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...7&postcount=80

If your own comments embarrass you, then that's on you. And hypocrite, you have spoken bluntly, and sarcastically, to several forum members yourself. Need I make another list?

I’m not embarrassed, people can make their own mind up and have their own views. Your post was not necessary. If people feel strongly fair enough, they don’t need you as a conductor.

My post provides context; it reveals a pattern amongst your predictions. Two common components are immediately apparent: your predictions are bizarre and also negative. ALWAYS negative.

Allowing people to make up their own minds is precisely why I did not add any of my own comments in that particular post.

Those same people can also decide whether or not my post was "necessary." I neither need, nor do I ask, for your approval concerning my posts. Additionally, it appears that the overwhelming majority have already made a decision about the necessity of your entire thread.

That’s not context. That’s a convenient selection of posts for your own benefit.
Someone has already stated Netflix indeed shoot some shows at 1080p HDR. One if the very things you linked in that post. In other words, 1080p is already being utilised with HDR.

Nine links to nine of your own posts is ample context. I could have provided even more, but any masochist desiring to read more of your predictions need only visit your profile page. And how did I benefit? It was agony to read those posts yet again!

Speaking of allowing our forum members to judge our comments, have you tallied the reactions to your thread? Nearly unanimous rejection is the result to date.

Netflix offers Star Trek Discovery at 1080p with HDR/ Dolby Vision- only overseas, sadly. The post you appear to be referencing is this one:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...5&postcount=81

According to Forbes, it was shot at 2K. It is just one example besides. And from that you have concluded that Netflix will stop offering 4K streams.

I watched Bomb City tonight via Amazon Prime streaming. It is a very good film about a tragic true event and the resultant miscarriage of justice.

I had no problems with the streamed content tonight. I can only guess as to why, but perhaps there was less demand on Amazon's servers? I began the movie after 10 PM my time, so maybe that made a difference.

If the only solution is to stream from Amazon late at night, that, too, is unacceptable. This is another movie that is available as a MOD blu-ray, but there is a 1-2 month wait to get it for some inexplicable reason. How can a MOD title be out of stock in the first place, yet alone for a month or longer?

Well one of the bad things about Prime is its piss poor, user unfriendly interface. So you never know the quality of what you’re viewing. Take for example The Sasquatch Gang. When you use the search engine it comes up twice, Prime and through another subscription. McLintock is another example, there are multiple versions and some look like they were recorded off cable on an old vcr tape

@Vilya

Are you still interested in a front projector? If so and in case you did not know about it, AV Science Sales has a site called AVS Discussions, link here. A lot of folks from the old AVS Forum post at Discussions.

Sony has announced some new models that look interesting, some info here. As a reference point the Sony VPL-VW600 (my model) was MSR $15,000 five years ago. The VPL-VW695ES at MSR $10,000 seems like a deal in comparison.

I am in the process of checking JVC, Epson and several others to see what they bring to the table.

I am interested in projectors, but my wallet is adamantly against the idea.

I would like to see 4K projectors support Dolby Vision, especially when they cost north of 5 figures.

On a side note, I replaced one of my two 23" computer monitors with a 32" one yesterday; this website is now huge!

I feel like this is a good example of why digital isn't very trustworthy.

Beyond that being utterly ridiculous, I asked why they didn't then make that same switch on all my other retailers like Vudu and Fandango Now. He said he didn't know, but that they can do whatever they want, so that is the only explanation.

I then brought up all my other movies that went missing and how previous non-extras iterations of those films are now the only versions in available in my library. He again had the gall to argue that it must be the studios doing it, not Apple. When I asked him if he thought it was strange for 3 different studios to band together to randomly select 5 movies to disappear in my iTunes library at the same time only to make them reappear at the same time in an inferior iteration, he simply said that that must be the only explanation since they did not see any problems on their end.

Needless to say, it was a colossal waste of time to try and get it resolved through Apple.
This isn't just an apple problem this sort of thing happens all the time where you get a movie at the wrong quality level lose features, extras etc and the studio/ provider either cant or wont help you fix the problem. If we are lucky they fix these things but it really goes to show digital isn't as reliable as physical. I feel like my odds of having a disc go bad (though no fault of my own) is about 1 in 20 years or less but I see various digital problems more then once per quarter. They fix some of those problems but sometimes they just tell you to pound sand and basically rip you off.

Have not read Apple's TOS but I suspect that it is like most others in stating they can do anything they want, anytime they want and by using the service you agree to those terms. For me (most of the time), no First Sale Doctrine protection = No Sale.

So totally different spin on our current thread, but what is the ideal ping, download and upload for streaming or gaming? I realize with streaming it is based on what your device can handle and your service provides. However, I recently had a kid knocking on my door about a competition internet provider and he kept going on about the ping helping reduce the latency in online gaming. Which doesn’t seem right. Anyone else have any input
