Ohh... I do like what you did there with the Last Crusade poster/vhs art. I like how you kept the 'pillars' with the other cast members on the top and bottom of them, and you did a great job of cutting out this portion of the poster to put over this background.
My only criticism, though, is that it doesn't quite look like it should be part of the same 'set' as your Raiders cover. The Raiders cover seems to use most if not all of the poster, and the "Indiana Jones" title works nicely as sort of the cut off point for the poster. But your Last Crusade poster has the title completely separate from the image, and with you having cut out part of the poster to no longer form a rectangle just doesn't go well as a companion piece to the Raiders cover. The Last Crusade cover it great in and of itself, but for an overall set you would almost need to find a way to cut out portions of the posters from the other films in a roughly similar manner in order for them to look like they properly go together, or go the route of your Raiders cover with all 4 by using a full, normal rectangular image (you could always do 2 different sets if you are so inclined). Of course you are free to do whatever you want with these covers and make them however you like. And both covers look great, but they just don't seem to mesh well together IMO. |

Isn't he still working on them? I don't think he ever posted the completely finished covers. I can't blame him for not immediately replying to requests for covers that he hasn't finished yet.

The only thing i don't like about the back is that the texture seems a bit big. I've found euphoricfx.org to be great when I'm looking for background textures. Sometimes I have to play around and put 2 or 3 together using the blend modes. I also find it good sometimes, too, when I'm working on a project to work on it a bit then let it sit for a little while. When I come back to it, I usually get a better idea of what's working and what's not.

I too have had requests for layered files or just the front of my covers. I have respectfully declined on the same basis as dv8pdx. I prefer my covers not be cut up and used for something else. Call it pride in my own work. That being said, LordCrumb is a budding cover designer, and within these loose bonds of brotherhood, I endeavour to assist him and others like him as well as I can. To LordCrumb's credit, he shares willingly all that he has, and that earns him some good will a casual lurker doesn't enjoy. People may ask for a copy of the TT I made or single elements, but requests for my original files so that they can "improve" (yeah!) my design are politely declined. I just don't give out my raw files, like a photographer doesn't give away the negative. |

I also agree with helping new designers, which I have done for years, as long as its to create something new and unique, changing my background or moving some images around to me isn't new and unique to me. With that said, if its an element, studio template or TT that will help someone, Im game. Beyond than I will probably shy away. For all those waiting (patiently I might add) for my Indy covers, they will be posted tonight, and all PM's will be replied to. Yes they are finally finished!! (All 5 single cases and the Anthology set). FINALLY!! lol |
