The other complication is that the replicator sources out the slipcovers and these custom one's are extremely expensive to run. So it has to be decided if they will re-run a batch to replace damaged ones or just refund us. It is quite a mess but hopefully we will have more answers in the week ahead. To answer your second question the source for the release was the original 35 mm camera negative. That's how we got it so incredible looking. It has been a top seller, it's just a shame what happened to a big portion of the remaining stock.
This is why I always buy a release I really want as soon as it's available - I have seen things sell out or become unavailable due to demand very quickly, and in this case a great collector's item has become an even bigger collector's item due to that accident!

Watched their release of Primal Rage, and honestly it looks pretty good. This is only my second release of theirs that I've bought and was turned off after the audio issues with Death Rage, but this one turned out great.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Red Neck.

"DARK FORCE BREAKING BAD:
We have been informed from our replicator that we will be receiving surviving copies of BLUE MONKEY with custom slipcover early tomorrow. Unfortunately there were only under 300 that were not damaged. We'll have more information shortly.

BREAKING NEWS: DARK FORCE RELEASED SCRAPPED. The film element we have acquired for BEYOND LOVE AND EVIL has turned out to be unusable. The element came from Warner Brothers and had not been previously assessed. We are forced to cancel the release. Instead we will immediately start work on JOURNEY INTO FEAR. The 1975 thriller with an all-star cast including Sam Waterston, Zero Mostel and Vincent Price:

According to FilmArt the HD master that was handed to them for Death adage from DF is cut by 3 minutes meaning the current DF disc is not only botched for the bad subtitles that were never fixed but the movie itself is actually cut. They said they just got access to an uncut 35mm print.

This is incorrect. What FilmArt stated is that the HD master (the same used by Dark Force) is missing 3 minutes from the GERMAN cut, and that they will be sourcing these 3 minutes from a German 35mm release print. Their final Blu-Ray will include the 96 minute German cut (no English subs), the 93 minute Italian cut (same as DF, but no English subs), and a shorter English-language cut.

Dark Force stated back a ways they were releasing the Italian cut. I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing that DF's blu had all 3 cuts and with English options. But they said it was going to be the Italian cut, and that's what we got.

My naked copy of Blue Monkey was shipped today. Looking forward to watching this one soon. I haven't decided yet if I'll save it for the annual Horror marathon or not but either way I'm sure it's getting watched at some point in September/October.

Ok, 300 survived, but how many perished to the Dark Forces. What was the survival rate?

Who the hell is FilmArt anyway frakking toaster? There's nothing missing out of our Death Rage other than maybe a minute of so of dead space due to us having to conform the Italian version to the English audio track. I guess we could have released the Italian version with Italian audio and sub-titles but it would have added a lot of cost to the production that at the time we didn't think would be worth it. Our version is the R-rated Italian version with conformed english audio. Good luck to this FilmArt whoever they are for putting out another version as no one is going to buy it anyway.

800 have been damaged, although out of those we will salvage as many of the units as we can without the slips. We sold out 900 in record time with the custom slipcovers. The surviving 300 with slips will be going up for grabs shortly.

just stop talking bs...everybody who is really interested in these films knows, that the italian version is cut. no discussion.
it was cut on tv, it was cut on dvd and it's the same cut version on your bluray.
if you don't believe me, take a look on some italian forums - gentedirispetto.
stop trying to fool your customers. shame on you.

They are an excellent cult movie label from Germany who release a lot of Giallo, Euro-Crime, martial arts, Spaghetti Western, and horror films on blu and DVD. A lot of their releases are English friendly, so people outside of Germany import their discs.

FilmArt puts out a quality product in Germany.

It's a bad look for Dark Force to disparage another company in the boutique business, especially when you have no idea who they are (and should).

Oh, don't worry. He's no stranger to disparaging other labels. Remember when he said he was going to sue vinegar syndrome because they put out masoleum?

"BEYOND GOOD NEWS: We examined the film element in our possession of the macabre 1971 French flick BEYOND LOVE AND EVIL and are very happy to announce we will be able to release it. The picture is crisp and color very good, will be much better after we restore it. This lost gem is worth going the extra mile for an HD release just on its lavish production value alone. Dark Force will be moving forward with the release and will have more updates as we begin the restoration process.
