Who else is disappointed that Christoph Waltz will be in this movie? I find him terribly annoying and pointless.

You'll probably find that very few people will agree with you.

I don't know if I believe that article. He trashed the movies publicly and seemed happy to be done with the character(who was killed off in a deleted ending in QoS). I'd love to have him in it as Number 2 in SPECTRE, but I ain't holding my breath.
Jesper Christensen completely debunked that story all the way back in 2010 - he said that he never said that to the journalist writing that article.

Too bad no one knows that he debunked those claims and seem to think that they are representative of what he thought of the Bond films.

Here's a link to the article from 2010, but in Danish. He essentially says that Casino Royale is an excellent film and he is proud to be part of the Bond universe.

Is Adele doing the main theme once again? You can call me crazy but her rendition of Skyfall help put asses in the seats.

There's rumours that Sam Smith might be doing the song.

Personally I'd love to see Muse do it.

Have always liked his work. The heroism he displayed during The Great Tomato War showed what real men are made of.

What?? The Bond books were written in the 1950s and 60s. TV was far less significant in the UK than in the U.S. There was only the BBC, only a few channels and either very conservative programming or four-hour snooker tournaments. Especially in the 50's, the Brits were still recovering from the war, they had to pay a license fee for each TV to fund the BBC and TV set penetration was far lower than the U.S.

I don't think TV is ever really mentioned in the books much and Fleming's Bond never quite struck me as someone who would watch it in any case. This was a sophisticated character who was into fine cars, women, drink, food and danger. I couldn't picture him watching some crappy TV show. And Fleming wrote mostly when he was in Jamaica, which probably had no TV at the time, so it probably wasn't even on his mind.

As for the rest of your post, I have no idea what you're talking about, but maybe that's me. Bond did smoke, but the books were written before the U.S. Surgeon General's report was issued. I do wonder how Fleming would have handled that had he lived longer. He was only 56 when he died. If he had lived until 80, he still would have been around in 1988. At a book a year, there could have been another 20+ novels from Fleming if he didn't give up or kill Bond off.

I'd be stunned if we didn't get it at the beginning this time. I was kinda surprised they did it at the end of Skyfall.

My God, yes. You have to exploit 50 years of history. Don't ignore it. It's what made the franchise a success across generations and more.

I was really anticipating a title of multiple words, not something similar to that of Skyfall, especially being the sequel to Skyfall. The title will slowly grow on me and after seeing the list of former titles below, it doesn't look so bad after all. Every title looks like they fit quite well, especially knowing that there have been different actors, who have played the iconic character from MI6, at different times, over several decades

Dr. No
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
Diamonds Are Forever

On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Live and Let Die
The Man With The Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonraker
For Your Eyes Only
Octop***y
A View To A Kill

The Living Daylights
License To Kill

Goldeneye
Tomorrow Never Dies
The World Is Not Enough
Die Another Day

Casino Royale
Quantum of Solace
Skyfall
Spectre

I think what some fan's, myself included, are forgetting, is at what lengths Eon Productions, and especially MGM, had to go through to acquire the rights back for the film Never Say Never Again, but also the rights to the fictional "global terrorist organisation" name known as SPECTRE, and why it wasn't used in earlier films as a title and/or in such plot details. I believe this film can be just as good, or bad, as any previous Bond film that has received such opinions/praises/reactions/reviews while holding such anticipation as well.

It is possible that Spectre becomes Sam Mendes' Quantum of Solace It could very well "underperform" in comparison to that of Skyfall; Where as many believed Skyfall underperformed in comparison to that of 'Quantum' and/or 'Casino'

I think Casino Royale is still the best Daniel Craig film to date. Having said that, I still enjoy all of the 3 movies.

I thought Kevin Spacey would be a dead cert for a bond villain at some point. Come to think of it, when was the last time a US actor played a bond baddie? I guess it was Robert Davi in Licence To Kill...?
