New mask is atrocious.. it looks like a $2.50 knockoff mask sold at Party City. They might as well have taped a white paper plate over his face with “Hockey Mask” written in black sharpie.

I always thought Nightmare on Elm Street was a good choice for a remake. Freddy lives in dreams, so the potential for the dreamscape is limitless.

That's why I loathe 2010's Nightmare remake the most. You could have done something really creative with a concept like Freddy's. Instead they made a cardboard copy of the original instead.

To those who say, the 2010 version wasn't that bad, yeah, well, my tracing picture looks okay. At the end of the day, it is still tracing.

Rooney Mara almost quit acting because of that movie. I am sure it harmed every person that was in that movie.

No it doesn't. The lack of imagination in it considering the special effects possibilities at the time is just terrible. They showed so much more imagination in the 80s it's ridiculous..

Zero interest in a reboot universe.
There's been some pretty good F13 comics, which expand on things from the films. There's still potential to do things in the existing canon.

The reboot wasn't all that great, while also being visually fantastic too.

His location being the place we'd prefer to see him is fine, it's just the visual flavor of his surroundings that becomes dull very fast after so many years. They talked about him running around in the snow in his next movie. So that along was just exciting for visual variety.

I didn’t “hate” the remake, but I don’t disagree with this opinion. Personally, I’ve had a fantasy desire to have Guillermo Del Toro tackle a Nightmare movie. He’s always personally felt like the perfect mind to elevate that IP.
