It's fine. Nothing really too groundbreaking about it. I overpaid for a New copy on eBay earlier this year. Watched it the one time, and realized I'd never watch it again, and I ended up selling it.

It was released and distributed by Disney actually.

It is but I prefer the longer cut for the extra footage. No idea if Ghosts is on Disney+ or not.

Saves them a couple hundred thousand dollars or so. Not to mention they'd have to get Cameron to approve the final discs. So pencil that in under "accidental Disney Dolby Vision disc".

Still wish Paramount was handling the home video release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny for that reason.

What Hunt is saying makes no sense...

The Disney disc will have dubs that Paramount has no access to...

European French, Castilian Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese, etc

So, by definition, it cannot be the same disc as the US one

I really enjoy GotA, but it's too short due to IMAX limitations of its time. Death Of A Dream is the best Titanic documentary out there. GotA was released in 3D and without it, it's just another Titanic documentary. The 3D really adds to the ship's scale in a way 2D can't. At least Disney released it on 3D BD before they outright abandoned the format.

If it's another Paramount's botched encode, then there won't be no alternative from Disney. On the other hand, no grain means nothing to botch

Unless Disney gave them the access to the international dubs. Apparently there's some kind of deal between them.

True, but Disnee have form for not touching the video encode and just swapping out the language sets for their own movies.

Sure they could, but I won't believe it until I see the back cover with a Dolby Vision logo....

They still do all the foreign dubs at Skywalker Sound in the USA. There is no reason Paramount couldn't access those.

Told us what? That's just the disc holder. There's a book that comes with it, too.

How could it possibly be the exact same encode, let alone the same disc, when the international version of the film has different studio logos and opening credits?

Paramount has only the domestic rights for this movie. They have access to English, Latin Spanish and Quebec French... That's it

Every other language is Disney exclusive

So an outer slipcover with a fold out book with paper memorabilia that is the same overall size as the Trek 1 collectable set. Exactly the same thing except with different types of paper mementos.

It looks like the days of the huge Trek 50th anniversary edition Box set are over for good.
I'm looking at it from the point of view of needing a coffee table book. Yeah, maybe it'll be the same size, but I don't think we're gonna get the same flimsy outer box as the Trek DC box. This is Titanic, after all.

Well Fox did that with Braveheart. However, Gladiator 4k (I'm guessing) is the same between Paramount and Universal with DV/DTS X

I think its time that studios work together and come with a unified encode rather than do 2 or multiple unless there are different cuts to the movie. It will save costs and slow down the demise of physical media.

Someone mentioned to me on the Prince of Egypt 4k forum that Disney(and other studios under it) is now using Elevation Sales to distribute physical media in the UK.
