Yes, it is a very interesting one. I loved it, there are just many things going on you have to watch carefully. I think I followed it pretty well. I'm trying to stay with the pace of the movie and you think you have it, then there is another twist that just throws you off. I loved it!

You should man. Luckily I've watched two of the best movies I've seen in a while:

Triangle

Two unique movies that kept my attention all the way through. I suggest either one of them. Triangle will keep you on your toes.

Oh no, I'm not going to make friends here now...

Triangle

At the end of the film, the only thing that was going though my head was, "Really, that's what all the fuss was about". Like it was well made, very intricately placed and paced, but it wasn't nearly as mind bending and confusing as you guys made it out to be, though. I do think thanks to squid and someone else (I think it was Al) they didn't put spoiler tags around there conversation in here and told me a little something about
[Show spoiler]looping
which did spoil the movie somewhat for me (spoiler proof my ass). Though I'm happy, the first 30 mins of this movie are ABYSMAL, Acting is awful, dialogue is terrible and stale and characters are bland carbon cut outs. But once they get onto the ship, it really does start to get quite intresting and some cool nightmarish imagery is put to use
[Show spoiler](I particularly like the scene where the dying woman on deck comes across all her dead bodies, very eerie)
. But I do believe I've found a minor flaw in the plot (not a story shredder, just something that doesn't make sense). When she gets the ship for the first time,
[Show spoiler]she has Deja vu like she remembers being there but doesn't quite remember exactly being there. Yet at the end, we see she has been there and she's going to go though the entire movie again, then why is she going around saying "I remember being here before" of course you remember you never forgot you fool. Unless she had brain damage from the car accident (which I doubt because she remembers she has to go to the boat yard) then she really shouldn't be openly saying "Oh I have a sense that something weird is going to happen because Deja Vu" and should be keeping herself quiet and making sure she kills off everyone, and doesn't fail this time!
. I didn't hate it, it was nice little story, and I was sucked in by the hour mark (but an hour into the movie is slightly too long) but with all this legendary chatter of it in here, I was hoping for something a little more than this.

[Show spoiler]should we help those less fortunate, and be good samaritans, or should we let the less-fortunate learn to pick themselves up and be more independent? there is VERY solid arguments for both sides of the debate, proving that its a great one IMO
. Glad it wasn't a complete bore for you
Yeah it definitely wasn't boring for me, that's why I rated it higher than The Leopard. I think the Leopard is probably a better film, but I didn't connect with the style and characters as much as I did in this one. They are both great period pieces, but I still gotta connect with the style of the film, the characters and how the story plays out. Howard's end is a very well done, but when factoring in my enjoyment, my rating settles down to a 3.75

Yeah you need to check out the Triangle thread as well

Btw, I disagree with your comment about the first 30 minutes being "abysmal".

Spend some time in the Triangle thread. You may have some things to discover that will help you appreciate it more. The question that you posed above is evidence that you missed some important "triggers".

Haha yeah I was reading this goin "WTF is he talking about?" Who mentions Stealth, Tears of the Sun and Behind Enemy Lines in a "best war film" discussion? And who cares about the realism of the satellites and shit.... those are just fun, yet very mediocre films.

I get why that was in there, but I don't think it quite makes sense,
[Show spoiler]unless I miss something significant where she forgets everything

I have heavy respect for the narrative, it's a shame a better director didn't take charge though. As I said, first 30 mins and I was close to switching it off and giving you guy some serious crap for that, I'm glad I didn't though

Two things Foggy. YES you missed something HUGE about how/why/when/where she forgets everything.

Secondly, Diesel will tell you (he disovered this stuff) that the beginning (before she goes to the boat) of the movie has a bunch of clues as to whats going on later in the movie. Important stuff. Clothing, car trunks etc. The beginning feels slow and shallow, IF, you arent gathering clues.

Maybe you just arent far enough along in you analysis for your head to go ... When you gat there, you will know.

I got all the stuff in the beginning, like she was putting the suit case in the car and she had different clothing
[Show spoiler](one scene she had the dress on, then she has the cardigan on when putting the stuff in the car, showing she killed herself)
You giving me far less grace than I actually have, I can search for clues while watching the film (
[Show spoiler]I could tell she was going to wind up being the killer just by looking at the poster with out knowing anything of the story for Christ sake
, I'm not a dumb teen boy)

Plus I still stand by, first 30 mins (mainly the stuff involving the Yacht) are abysmal
