I have read about printing errata on disc cover art before, so this comes as no surprise. It is somewhat rare, but it does happen.

My personal favorite remains this gem on each and every disc of Mill Creek's first release of the complete series of That 70s Show:

[Show spoiler]JobWellDun.jpg

There's some quality control right there for you! I love this show and I am a proud owner of every epsidode. Mill Creek decided not to offer corrected discs, but they have since released a newer edition that corrects this and a couple of minor issues with the first release while also removing two discs of extra features that were found only with the first release.

The movies getting the new art so far are Batman, Batman Returns & Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice. All three of these movies are getting released from next Monday; the 24th of September.

I looked up the new Batman v Superman cover art among the three of them. All was going well until I looked at it's new Blu-ray back cover. It turns out there is a mistake written in for the run time on the Blu-ray cover as it got mixed up with the run time with the 2 cuts for Suicide Squad. These two movies are included in the DC Extended Universe from WB.

I had already purchased my copy of Batman v Superman on Blu-ray when I pre-ordered it from Amazon in 2016.

The original run time for Batman v Superman's Theatrical Cut is 151 minutes. It's Ultimate Cut is 182 minutes.

The original run time for Suicide Squad's Theatrical Cut is 123 minutes. It's Extended Cut 134 minutes.

What are your thoughts on this mistake from WB? It could send the comic book fans to a big negative frenzy. Have you encountered mistakes like these before when buy physical copies of movies from other studios or from boutique labels?
What the hell does this have to do with the physical vs digital debate?

I am not sure, but if he is guilty of going off topic, then so am I (surprise!) for replying to him. I put the large image in my reply behind spoilers to lessen the visual impact of my transgression.

It’s either a mistake or he has genuinely gone off topic. Either way, he doesn’t deserve such a abrasive reply.

I didn't mean it as harshly as you seem to be interpreting it. You've gotten way too over-sensitive over the most minor of things lately.

Not that this is a big deal, and in general I don't mind when things go off topic, but usually there is a tangent that splinters off from the topic that takes the conversation in another direction, giving it at least some connection. This was not prompted by anything in this thread. (as far as I can tell).

Nah, just a little verbal abuse should do. Apparently the mods do not see it as a big deal.

If you don’t have streaming problems then how do you know when your speed drops below 50Mbps?

Below is how my internet has preformed over the last several weeks. My plan is 25Mbps down and 3Mbps up. Below is a graph from SpeedOfMe. The Cyan trace is download, the Yellow trace is upload speeds. The dips in speed are prime time, when it is up is during the day. The Netflix app speed checks pretty much agrees with the chart. I have checked my speed during prime time using my ISP’s speed test and it shows 23-25Mbps. This clearly shows a problem between the ISP and the internet backbone not between me and the ISP. Or the problem could be a combination of many things (my ISP, CDN’s, peering, etc.) related to the internet.

Too bad Amazon and VUDU do not offer in app testing like Netflix does.

Amazon speed test here. Quite extensive testing, probably will see a lot of variation here.

Netflix speed test here. Netflix monthly ISP averages here.

SpeedOf.Me speed test here. I like this one because it can keep track of your test.

VUDU speed test here.

No big deal, just occurred to me that Dublin is a gent who didn’t deserve that manner of reply. That’s the problem with the written word though, it doesn’t always represent our intentions or feelings.

Like you say though, not a biggie.

Default Physical Media Future

As far as the topic of this thread.
I believe physical media is here to stay for quite some time.
Recent theatrical films and catalogue titles released on Blu-ray keep on coming.
Also, 4K Blu-ray releases have increased at a steady pace.
There not being released for nothing, so the profit margin must be good.
Long term prognosis for physical media? Good, no worries.

Don’t feel bad Dynamo. I ask the very same answer once I caught up with the threads 2-3 months ago once we arrived in Texas and was pretty much met with the same response. It is one thing to go off topic (guilty) occasionally.

It is another when it is a constant. This thread should be renamed and moved to another subforum like this thread. Because it is less about Digital or Physical and more about everything else at this point

I definitely agree that physical (and digital for that matter) are here. My only fear is how little we’re seeing in stores here in the US. Seems retailers are cutting corners and trying to maximize space in stores for other merchandise by moving most of their merchandise to online. This is where I’m envious of those members overseas who still have a huge media section.

Most of my stores have a smallish physical media section now. Walmart even sells VUDU digital cards in the front of the store vs discs nowadays. I guess that's just one of those things.

I do notice my Target is getting worse as they expand their toy section. Game section and a disc aisle was taken for more Funko and plush stuff. I assume since Toys 'R' Us is gone the added center toy displays and putting more "adult" targeted toys like they used to sell is one of the reasons.

Most of my Target’s in my old area were in the process of remodeling and expanding their mobile areas. The collectibles have been on the back wall for quite some time. Being that I was a merchandiser I get the importance of cross merchandising there.

Yeah, the back wall is all Funko. Now there's gaming collectibles and more of the expensive NECA toys TRU carried in a center aisle.

I am optimistic about anything that turns a profit and that includes physical disc. I have a lot of hardware in the media room and none of it except for the Sony UBP-X800 can be purchased at big box stores. Since the early 70's I have always purchased separate components and sometimes I’ve had a concern about their continued availability, especially for pre-amps and AVP’s. Looking back that concern was not necessary. Today, there are more high end AVP’s than ever before. Link here.
