OK, this is a bit...personal, but here I go.


...there's this gal I had....well...a crush on. We casually chatted a few times on Facebook and have met in person a few times, having known her for the past few years.

A few days ago, out of the blue she liked an old Facebook photo of me back when I was at my heaviest and...yeah. A very unflattering picture I had previously considered deleting. I've lost a significant amount of weight since and is continuing to do so.

Flattered by this, I decided to return the favor and like one of her old photos. She then decided to block me and unfriend me as a response to that gesture.


...yeah, this went into an awkward direction. Anyone have any ideas of what happened? What I do know is that i'm not a stupid idiot who'll pursue answers from her and will instead wait and see what will happen next. I am bummed out a bit, but this wasn't my first rodeo either, so i'm handling it just fine.

[Show spoiler]One possible reason is that since I know her mom and stepdad and have attended events with them, she's probably saving both our asses from things getting too awkward from multiple angles. Then again, this might nto be the case, so who knows?

Well, I know that she was dumped by her rich boyfriend of several years shortly before Christmas last year and underwent surgery to remove non-threatening cysts last month.

I did kindly asked to hang out one on one last month. Totally said "Not as a date, but just a hangout between friends" in the most polite way imaginable in an attempt to not give her the impression that I was asking her out on a date.

She declined, but in a very polite way due to saying "she had no time for R&R due to work and school", so I totally understood that reason.


Still...I tried my damnedest to not come off as stalkerish and creepy, as that totally fudged the last time I had a crush on a gal, but maybe I screwed up again and actually was.

Well...i'm trying with some other gal I met. A gal I had a more fruitful conversation with in one day compared to the amount of times I periodically saw the gal that rejected me in the course of three years or so.

I have no idea how this will pan out, but wish me luck, everyone.

I went to Home Depot to buy some carpet for my stairs.

After a long wait, a helpful young man came along. I told him I need 14' of carpet. He said, "Darn, my tape measure only goes to 12'...I'll have to go get another one". As he walked away, I said, "Or you could measure out 12' and just measure out another 2' on the end". He thought that was a good idea!

I thought it was funny on two counts:

1)Obviously, the fact that he had didn't immediately realize how to measure 14' with a 12' tape measure was funny.

2)Almost all standard tape measures are about 25' (give or take a foot). This guy actually works at a store that SELLS TAPE MEASURES and they only gave him a 12' tape measure...for a guy working in the flooring department?

i've found that when people who work at those types of places don't wear a tape measure that's long enough to measure most things people need, it's because they think they're too heavy and don't want to carry them around; even though there's a clip on it to keep it on a pocket/belt for that very reason.

and that was definitely a laughable moment. first, not realizing how to measure something that was longer than the tape measure he had. then, not even having one long enough when he works at a place that sells them, lol.

i have a 6' tape measure that i try to remember to take with me when i go to a home improvement store, just in case i need to measure something.
