I always immediately open mine. In fact I have a ritual every time i get new blu-rays.

1) Open package
2) inspect disc for scratches or marks
3) Scan barcode on iPhone for my movie list app
4) Add movie to my collection on here
5) Redeem any codes (movie rewards, digital copy, ect.)
5) Remove off my amazon wish list
7) Play disc and skip around to make sure disc plays all right
8) Add to collection in alphabetical order

I've gotten several blu-rays that have not played right or at all, so thats why I always open and test them

yeah i inspect my blurays as soon as i get them in the mail. i can't tell you how many of my bluray came defected and had to get them exchanged. are there any blurays worth keeping in the shrink-wrap (rares?, collectibles)?

Man my haul looks weak. In my defense though I'm saving up for an expensive trip in September so I'm limiting my purchases until that's over with. Only one blu-ray and one CD for the week. Ended up getting the rare lenticular cover for the CD though. Pretty happy about that.

Mine also stays sealed till I watch them. I literally, upon hundreds and hundreds, have only had 1 bad disc when I opened them. It skipped a scene about halfway through.
