How about this, come back on Wednesday or Thursday and tell us what the story meant, to you. Is that fair? We arent trying to knock you. We want you to participate in finding more answers, and you have to tear it apart to help us. Make sense?

Fair enough, I'll try and squeeze in another viewing or 2 in there before then, and check out a few theories before I come up with my own

I suggest you let the film brew in your head for a couple days and see what pieces put themselves together. Its more fun getting most of the way their alone, and with a little help from others, than it is to just have all the answers handed to you.

I'll start you off with an important thing to solve. It will hep break other things down for you.
[Show spoiler]At the end of the film, she is aware of the LOOP and chooses to voluntarily re-enter the yacht, right? She is making the choice to do it all over again, right? Correct.

But, when she is on the Oceanliner, everything is new to her and she is surprised by many events. How is this possible when she entered the yacht knowing all the crap she had just been through? You need to solve where/when/why her momory of all the preceeding events disappeared. There is where you will find the answer to why she is destined to repeat the loop for eternity.

Then we can go from there.

Or, you can read the Triangle thread from the beginning and get 99% of what you are looking for, but that wouldnt be nearly as fun.

Well
[Show spoiler]among other questions that was the main one I was wondering. She willingly went back and everything happens the same way it seems. She forgets at one point but where? It has to be on the boat I would guess. The storm maybe??? or the nap? You are right, it's something I would like to discover for myself, it's so interesting to put the pieces together yourself. I thought I followed the film pretty well but there was some questions that are lingering. I really do need to figure out where she forgets everything. I can assume everything up to getting on the boat she remembers. She says she dropped her son off at school which is a lie and she hugs that one guy because she is stressed from what she has been through. So it happens somewhere between getting on the boat and before they get on the ship. This is a really great movie

Awesome job. The answer to when she forgets is in the spoiler if you care to read it.

[Show spoiler]The nap is where everything gets reset. I think Squid was actually the one who put forth this theory

You have isolated it correctly. It can however, be isolated down further, to a single event IMO. Just watch that part of the film and you will spot it. Or, ask yourself this....

[Show spoiler]When the storm comes, is she genuinely afraid of it? If yes, she has already lost he memory. What happens right nefore the storm?

Ok cool.
[Show spoiler]I figured it had to be isolated down to either the storm or the nap. I hadn't decided on it yet, so I planned to rewatch that part attentively. The nap seems....eh I don't know. Why would a nap reset everything?? The storm seems more probable I think but you bring a good point. I can't remember if she was afraid or not. If she was then yes she would have lost her memory already which would mean it was the nap then. Ah this is driving me crazy, I'm rewatching tonight!

[Show spoiler]IIRC she asks something like "Can we outrun the storm?" My memory is that she definitely wanted to get away from it.

BUT....... she may still remember and may want to avoid the storm because it brings the Oceanliner. Right? Wrong!!!!!!

Because if she never gets on the oceanliner to repeat all those events, she can never have another chance to get to her son again, which was her sole reason for choosing to re-enter the loop to begin with.

Its the nap.

[Show spoiler]Then back to my question with that. Why would a nap reset everything?? That is if there any explanation for that. At least tell me if there is one and I'll see if I can figure it out myself.

No one has found a reason yet, that I am aware of. Please find one.

[Show spoiler]Some of it might depend on where you think she is. The Burmuda Triangle, Pergatory, Hell, insane, dreaming etc.

Lots to figure out eh?

Oh. Watch it with a notepad handy. Surfdude put a layout on the wall like detectives do when investigating crimes. It helps reduce the headaches.

Wow.
Don't you just love it when you see an interesting conversation going on, but there are spoiler tags in the posts, then you backtrack to the original post which contains the title of the movie to figure out what movie they're discussing because there's no way to tell by reading the posts, that can go on for pages?

[Show spoiler]More good points. I plan to rewatch this a few times to see if I can find some sort of answer that is hiding. Or maybe there isn't one. You would think with everything else so planned out there would be some sort of explanation as to why she loses her memory. Meaning why the nap erases her memory.

Sin City (Basin City)

Director's: Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez
Writer: Frank Miller
Mains: Bruce Willis, Jessica Abel, Rasiro Dawson, Benicio Del Toro, Michael Clarke Duncan, Clive Owen and Micky Rourke. Hell all of Hollywood lol.

Turn the right corner and you can find anything in Sin City!

Synopsis: Sin City is a multi layered story about the wild wild City. Its based on Frank Miller Graphic Novel and this movie is VERY graphic but staying true to its comic feel even with real cast. Bruce Willis is a cop thats days from retiring and he's trying to capture the serial rapist. Mickey Rourke is a lonely beastly character that falls in-love with prostitute and she gets murdered in his own bed. Now he's trying to prove his innocents. There are also 2 more stories and they all inter twine with each other.

My Take:
This was AMAZING! If you want to be entertained like none before this should be your pick. Sin City offers nothing movie than awesomeness. Blood, Sexy Scenes, Gore, and a host of favorite actors. The stories themselves are equally entertaining. You get the Robert Rodriguez feel along with Frank Millers ideals. Truly one of a kind and one serious popcorn flick. The visuals are done perfectly and the themes are perfect. I especially like the attention to detail with the colors. The movie is black and white when it wants to be.

Conclusion: If you haven't seen Sin City and you are a action or comic guy you need to get off your ass and get this. This one is a purchase for sure! Very Graphic and very Colorful but keep in mind you might get addicted to this fun little "Popcorn" Flick!!!!!!

MUST OWN
