Pierrot le Fou is still available on the Criterion website and amazon, but not in retailers like Barnes & Noble. I ordered a copy of the Pierrot le Fou blu-ray from the Criterion website for $26.95 a few days ago and it arrived today. Get it while it's still out there!

And I agree wholeheartedly...Mystery Train is easily my favorite Jim Jarmusch film... I can't wait until the B&N Criterion sale to pick up a copy. |

They will most likely release "Grand Illusion" on blu... it's been a staple of their catalog since the laserdisc days. I'm surprised that this or Renoir's other classic "Rules of the Game" haven't been announced yet.

It was spine #1. It was the first in the DVD collection, and spine #25 (of #363) in the laserdisc collection. So it's been around since the beginning of both formats.
Criterion recently confirmed that they have no plans for Joan at this time, though. Which is a shame. |

I picked up "8 1/2", "Kagemusha" (both to replace previous DVD editions) and "Playtime" today at Barnes and Noble. While I was there, I thought it would be a good idea to sign up for a membership to get even better discounts in the upcoming 50% off sale.
If anyone can help, I do have two questions. 1. The plastic push button that holds the blu-ray in place was broken in my "8 1/2" case when I opened it today. I think I read on here before that criterion will sometimes replace broken/defective cases. If criterion's still doing that, should I just send them an e-mail. If not, can anyone recommend a good place to purchase a clear blu-ray case? 2. When the upcoming 50% sale comes up at B&N, will I automatically get an additional 10% off (so 60% altogether) since I am now a member? Thanks for your help/advice. |

2. I believe it's 55% total. 50% + 10% of 50% |

I'll take a picture of the case and will see if they can send me a new one. Thanks again! Last edited by chetripley80; 06-20-2010 at 12:22 AM. |

Just watched Revanche earlier this evening. Another incredible blind buy for me...that's like, I don't know, 7 or 8 in a row! And that is why I keep buying CC Blus!
I was in B&N last night and picked up 3 more: Vivre sa vie, Gomorrah, and Paris, Texas. Can anyone who has seen either of these two films let me know how they are? A Christmas Tale and Summer Hours. I know I can look up reviews and such, but I've been getting a good vibe from comments on here from you all...so, I thought it'd be a good idea to ask first... Thanks!! -Dave |

Lloyd on Blu would likely depend on the agreement that was made between the Lloyd Estate and New Line back in 2003-2004, which resulted in the great box set of his films. Now that New Line has been swallowed up by Warner, I just don't see them renewing distribution when the agreement comes up for renewal. They've been more than willing to let other licensed properties expire without renewal lately (the Chaplin MK2 films, My Fair Lady, etc.). So, at that point, it would be up to the Lloyd Estate to seek out a new deal. Maybe we'll get lucky and Criterion will snatch them up for US distribution like they have with Chaplin.
