Thats beautiful!

Oh come now, one more set won't hurt.

Pretty please?

Wanted to make a slipcover for my Minority Report BD, and to add my DVD copy to the set. Made a new title treatment to match as well.

I don't think anyone will mind. Heck, I'm not even much of a James Bond fan, but I think it's cool that there are so many options for people who are. The more cover, the merrier!

Awesome - so much better than the awful existing art.

Wow! You just blew me away here, Im. It's a solid and original design, flawlessly executed. You can tell the effort that has gone into this. Thanks for sharing, and don't be too accomodating of the "Enough with the Bonds" posters. (Then again, weren't you one of them? :-))

I especially appreciated your write-up. Wish all contributors would do some. It's the best way to learn from each other.

Are you sure you've left enough space to accomodate all the title treatments at the bottom front? Seems a little tight for the longer ones to me.

The one thing that I feel clutters up your design is the inclusion of film # and production year on the front. The choice of a typewriter font also seems to conflict with the otherwise elegant impression. ("Over-fonting"? Good word, I'll be sure to add that to my vocabulary.)

I also have a pet-peeve against tobacco products on my covers. I've even gone to the lengths of airbrushing them out from stills on the backs. For the early Bonds it's hard to avoid though. (I wanted to remove it from the Dr. No poster I used, but the client was insistent on authenticity. I also left Al Capone's cigar intact on a Untouchables cover, but I avoid depicting the foul weed whenever I can.)

One thing about the 007 gun-logo on the front, I've never been able to center it to my complete satisfaction. To my eyes, the optical centre of that logo is the middle "0", and I tend to disregard the actual pistol graphic when centering. The way you've placed it looks lop-sided to me. YMMV, of course.

These comments are just matters of personal tastes, of course. It's a sterling design, and stands right up there with your Looney Tunes, Ghostbusters, John Carter and Poirot. (I'm a fan. *gush*)

For your pick of future locations, how about sticking to the first location Bond visits and starts unravelling clues? I haven't really thought this through, but it might work for consistency? DVDMike also specified locations on his backs, if I remember correctly.

Default James Bond 007 Custom Blu-ray Cover

Slightly left-of-topic, but just to give you guys an impression of how diverse my Bond assignments are, here's a roll-up I've done for a guy who has the Lotus and wants something to catch the eye when he shows it at fairs and car meets.

Well, I upscale the biggest images I have, but they will look mushy up close (not pixelated though). Actual Billboards are mushy too, up close. As long as the text and everything else is crisp, it works on a big canvas like this.

Regarding the legality, this is no different than doing a custom cover for someone. I couldn't mass produce these and advertise them for sale, but as long as they are made to order on a one-off basis, I shouldn't incur the wrath of the copyright Gods.

Strictly speaking, all the images and logos we use every day are under copyright, the Bond emblem very much so, but then again I don't charge my clients for the pictures, only the assembly. I provide a service, not a product.

Yes, I agree the TT does get a little lost on the cover. I moved the TT around on the image to try and get some contrast. I will probably do a white color overlay.

By the way, I am impressed with your "Dr No" custom - just beautiful.

I know it's super early for this one (doesn't even come out in theatres for 5 more months), but what can I say... I'm excited.
