I guess you guys missed the part where no one gives a shit about this movie. Sean actually fueled a discussion in what would've been a pretty dead thread.

Well, I completely hate to say it, but unfortunately I was wrong. Maleficent really is only 1 hour and 38 minutes. And since that is how long its turned out to be, I will say that I really hope that when I see it later today, that it will be as slow paced as it can possibly be. That way I will not leave the theater when the movie is over, feeling like it was just too short of a movie to watch and enjoy.

The idea of making a film about Maleficent could have been interesting if they had just done their own thing instead of imitating and subverting the original film. Seems obvious that a talented writer could have made a stand-alone movie about that character that had little - if anything - to do with the events of the 1959 film.

... Since when is the enjoyment derived from a film tied to its length?

If it was, by all accounts, nobody would ever enjoy a short.

I always heard size doesn't matter, it is what you can do with it that counts

Seriously, this just looks like a bad film. Let me know if it is actually good but this is one I probably won't be seeing and won't miss not seeing.

Gravity (multiple Oscar nominations including Best Picture) is only an hour and 31 minutes.

What's the point of this running time debate?

Because the longer it is, the more we get to see from it, with out leaving the theater disappointed because it was too short. In this movie case since its only 98 minutes I am hoping that its a slow paced movie. That way it doesn't seem like it ends too fast when watching it, or in other words that it does seem like its just too short when watching it.

Sean, a slow-paced movie is a boring one.

Why do you want to see a boring movie?

Wait - did your seeing it the FIRST Time not make you think that, or did you have to see a 2nd time to confirm your earlier suspicions? (or maybe you had to take your kids/relatives kids the 2nd time?)

The bickering about the movie length here pretty much killed my interest in this. With the online reviews confirming my own concerns about the film, I think I'll wait for it to hit the dollar theater and just see xmen a third time.

Can't blame ya on that. X-men was still great the second time around.

Right then now that we're past the runtime debacle, can we focus on the really important thing.

Do we get an apology, Sean, after all we've been telling you the correct information and you've caused us more distress then we've really deserved? I think the least you can do is apologise for the needless arguements.
