Really love Bloodsport, Double Impact, Hard Target, Timecop, universal soldier and sudden death. Sudden death has one of the best tag lines ever lol “Terror goes into Overtime.” ![]() |

The trouble with Nowhere to Run, despite being a solid little action flick, is that it doesn't play to Van Damme's strengths and he doesn't make much of an impression. Pretty much anyone could have played his role.
If I had never seen a Van Damme movie, I would go with Timecop, Hard Target, or Universal Soldier first. All three are well made high concept flicks that play well to anyone unfamiliar with Van Damme. Then Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Lionheart, and Street Fighter. And then everything else. |

I need to see The Quest again, I also remember liking it when I was younger. Street Fighter has always been a guilty pleasure of mine along with Knock Off & Universal Soldier: The Return. Hard Target though is my favorite Van Damme film.

I thought The Quest was awesome when I was younger. It's still pretty alright. It's nice to see Roger Moore and for a directorial debut, I've seen so much worse.

I enjoy The Quest, it's nowhere near his best or worst, it's a solid directorial debut. And like Creasy says, I've seen way worse from first time directors. Heck, even from 3 or 4 time directors.
Also Roger Moore is fun to watch and the score is beautiful. It's done by Randy Edelman, who had a phenomenal run in the first half of the 90's. |

In Hell is good, but I largely jump off the JCVD train when he did The Quest and Double Team.

All of these suggestions are good, but for the last film you see of his, it still has to be JCVD.
