This could be like Shin Godzilla. A Jason that goes through several iterations of the evolution of his depiction in movies over the course of one story.

I think the new Jason looks fine. Looks similar to his looks in FVJ and 2009 remake and it was fine then.

Not sure why this is becoming a big issue online. Must be a slow news week.

I just got attacked for saying the remake is a piece of garbage and not faithful to Wes Cravens character, as for the new design I don't really like the jeans, and I wonder how tall they are planning on making him? I really liked the Jason in the remake he was fast and brutal but the dialogue and lighting in the 2009 is atrocious

I'm pretty sure even back then many fans did complained that the whole jacket angle on Jason makes him look a bit ridiculous. Especially in FVJ, he look dopey as heck and like they tried way too hard on making him look "cool" and big for no reason. The remake's open jacket version did fit that modern iteration and looks way better, but there's no denial that many fans considered the classic part 3- part 7 era Jason THE Jason Voorhees.

Agreed, but;

1980s 'Low Budget' studio film = a couple of million, tops.

2025 'Low Budget' studio film = 50-80 million.

Funny because the first movie of the remake was just that, but only the first three were covered in a truncated way.

I personally loved it. The 2nd should’ve been Tommy, and the Zombification of Jason(Maybe insert a fake Jason briefly into it just so we get that, plus Tommy could still be in the hospital after the time jump). The last one would cover the final three(I pretend Hell never happened. X did in a way). That seems hard, but Carrie girl would just be apart of the boat. Jason was in the water for both of those, so you start it the same. And for Space stuff, you just have some far far galaxy bounty hunters involved somehow. Yes the last one sounds silly, but it’s appropriate to where the series went.

Halloween (2018-- not Zombie's Halloween), Final Destination, SAW, Scream, Stephen King's IT, Candyman, Nosferatu, and Evil Dead have all had great horror requels (past the first requel-- different story for Halloween and IT).

Let's all just hope F13 and ANOES get proper requels.

Said it before. Will say it again. Practical effects, 80's, Jason, Camp Crystal Lake, a likeable final girl, a good chase sequence and creative kills. It really is that simple. Just execute those things well and that's all that's needed.

Here's a novel idea: put a quarter in the "don't" jar, and come up with a different movie with a story/character we haven't seen a million times before.

Let's be real here. The hardcore fans won't like it, because "it's just like the old ones" or "how dare they try something different". The youngsters won't see it, because it's a regurgitation of something old. It's not going to work. We all know this.

There's an old Yiddish saying that, roughly translated, says "it was great, but it's great that it was". I couldn't agree more.

Jason is a friggin' American, he should be wearing a baseball catchers mask or football helmet, not some stupid hockey mask.

I don't think Horror Inc has rights to Tommy or any characters besides Jason and Pamela. Those rights are with Sean Cunningham.

Crap.

New plan. Cast Henry Cavill as an original character. Name: Tommy Garvis.

Problem solved.

New plot: Jason finds out a movie is being made about his life story and is quite excited for this. Then he finds out the people behind the scenes are fighting with each other over rights issues and it might not get made at all, or it gets made with a lot of important stuff missing, so he goes to Hollywood to kill them all.

That's true, however some kind of deal must already be in place. Miller has some rights to Jason, but he doesn't have rights regarding the Hockey Mask, as that came later. His rights are only in regards to things associated with the first film.
As the mask is clearly present here, then theres a deal of something sort already at play.

As a life long horror fanatic, I don’t like the design. Too generic, and the clothes don’t work either.

I just think the good stuff is in it own capsule, it just can’t be duplicated. I will give this new stuff a chance, but from what I have seen of the design, it’s not filling me with confidence.
