I very much doubt Gladiator has the same encode even if both have Dolby Vision...

But I can't find a BDInfo of the US disc

Will this be the unrated version where Kate gets a facial in the steamy car scene?

andreasy did a comparison between the Universal and Paramount discs waaaay back (the screencaps have expired) and they're virtually identical, burned in subs and all.

Fox’s Braveheart is a materially different master, it’s got clean sections for subtitles and a colour space error making it look oversaturated vs the Paramount. The two Gladiators are different encodes too as the opening credits are different.

It was such a missed opportunity to not use Hockley’s safe for the Collector’s Edition box….what a thing that would’ve been.

It’s crazy how so many of yall are so engrossed in disc language and encode, what makes. 4K or Blu-ray Disc. I wish I had that kind of mind.

I think its all to do with if Fox/Disney will add the DV layer onto the international 4K release. As much as people prefer DV, there have been instances where the standard 4K HDR release have done better than the DV digital/physical release. Watchmen comes to mind where the Warner 4K HDR release is preferred to the Paramount 4K release(some people still prefer the Paramount release still).

CDON.fi has listed a 3-disc set (4K-Bluray-Bonus) to be released on December 11.

Unless this is produced like The Prestige: Warner International did the work for both them and Disney US/Canada. Paramount could be making the 4K disc from themselves and 20th/Disney. It would save Disney money and ensure the video & audio meets Cameron’s standards.

This one also lists Dolby Vision. Like the French one. And this one seems to have info coming from a press release.

Okay, I'm still gonna wait for a proper confirmation, like back cover, or more press releases from Europe but it does seem like we *are* getting Dolby Vision. Strange. Will the disc really be worldwide? More to know soon I hope.

Edit: the "press release" info also mentions Dolby Vision. Isn't it a copypaste of Paramount's? I'm thinking the theory of this being a Paramount-Disney joint release comes stronger the more we know.

This is how it should be. Sisu was released in 4K by Lionsgate in the US and Sony in the UK. Sky_Captain has claimed The Sony 4K disc is the direct port of the Lionsgate 4K disc.
If Fox/Disney does that with the International languages, then that would be great.

Yeah, I can definitely see Disney issuing a "remastered" BD as well, the way they did with Avatar.

Did the collectors 4k sell out already or is it just the static post. I kept checking today and when I first saw it pop it had none for sale.

Such bipolar release dates, the guys over at Digital Bits said that the uk release should coincide with the American release, unless France and other places get it later. .

Preordered the regular 4K. These deluxe editions just end up sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

There’s nowhere I can put a massive deluxe edition so I’m settling with a standard.
