Martin Mull's concert as Hamlin Rule on "The Pied Piper" episode of Season 2 is one of the most amazingly cheesy and entertaining musical sequences I've ever seen. Is it terrible? Yes, it is. Is it funny? OMG yes. Martin Mull is one of the hammiest villains ever, and is a perfect foil for WW. Eve 'Jan Brady' Plumb is also in the episode! The only downside is Lyle Waggoner has mots of the episode off, but still...I'm loving the '70s cheez. The episode a couple before "The Pied Piper" where Lynda is wearing fruit-stripe swinger clothes, parachutes to an island, and rips her yellow pants down to short-shorts (yum!) is something that you would never see in the '40s episodes.

Henry Gibson as Marion Mariposa, is the hammiest (and funniest) villain on the show, imo.

The funniest moment on the show (for me) was the indestructible chimp that gets hit by a car - a child’s stuffed toy is thrown up in the air for the effect.

I remember liking the episode with double the Leif Garrett.

Finished watching the set, and had lots of fun with it. I live near Washington, DC, though, and the Wonder Woman tv series has really given me the urge to revisit the city and search for the wonderful mountains, palm trees, and Pacific Ocean vistas of Washington, DC. Don't know how I missed these all these years.

Ha. I expect that in tv, but it got really bad around season three. Each episode, I wondered how they were going to get Diana out to SoCal. Then, in a rare episode set in Washington, they have a long scene in Griffith Park, one of most conspicuous of Hollywood, filming locations. It was such lazy scouting. It's also a sign of a dying show short on funds, like the last season of Star Trek where they almost never left the Enterprise, except for that one time Kirk was on an exact duplicate of the Enterprise.

IN the final season of Knight Rider, it seemed that a bunch of episodes towards the end were all obviously shot on the Universal Studios backlot. In fact, the soundstage building exteriors were used for all sorts of other things like warehouses, industrial buildings, office buildings. If you have ever taken the Backlot Studios tour, the color scheme of the soundstage buildings make it super obvious.

I might have to check that out. I haven't seen Knight Rider or Universal City since I was a kid, and became a bit obsessed with spotting backlot locations because of The Good Place. It's always fun catching it on something I didn't watch while flipping channels, like The Ghost Whisperer.

So would a new purchase from Amazon at this time most likely have the corrected discs, or are the bad ones still out there with most retailers?

I ordered. I'll post here once it arrives. I looked at that first post, and it seems there were a number of problems discs. Is it the case that a set will either have all good discs, or all four of the problem discs? Or are there sets out there with maybe just 1-3 of the bad discs?

Got my set, and all four of the potential problem discs (1, 4, 7-8) have the .2 at the end of the matrix code, so it seems I got all good discs.

Reading this thread and the review had me thinking there were only framing/credits issues with these discs. They’re a complete wax works and a severe downgrade from the old DVDs. They look like artificial HD to me. Like someone put the old DVDs into a computer, cranked up the colour, then slathered them in DNR to hide that there’s no uptick in resolution. I guess that’s *a* definition of “restored”... Warner should be ashamed.

I can't quite agree with this. I think the episodes look really good, and I have the old set. I wish there was no DNR, but honestly, they still look better than the DVD to me. Far from a downgrade.

Thanks!
I just got around to this episode, yeah I can't stand that. I guess they never fixed it?

Been practising my colour correction on the episode The Queen and the Thief which, for some reason, on the Blu-ray looks really dark and really blue and cold. I brightened it up a bit, tried to warm up the colours, and increased the saturation a little.

It seems that they used interpositives instead of negatives. WB is currently transferring all of their tv shows to hd digital. I don't know if that means original negatives. I don't even know who to contact there any longer. People left in 2020.

Warner are finishing up HD remastering the original Dallas TV series. All 357 episodes. They scanned the original 35mm negatives that were available. A.I. technology is also being used.

Hopng Dallas will look better than Wonder Woman. There's a few shocking looking episodes on the second and third season of the blu ray set. Contrast, color and DNR are pretty bad.

Maybe we can get them to revisit this and The Flintstones. I think the openings of Roots also have the dreaded zooms as well
