It was a Best Buy exclusive in the US upon initial release. Sony chose to make more. Wouldn't apply to Marvel/DC/Star Wars as those are with Disney/WB.

Doctor Strange is a Marvel/Disney release and I seriously doubt that company will reprint that steelbook. Disney has been showing it's not that interested in physical media any more. They used to make new steelbooks with new designs of a previously released steelbook and ususally sold them as Exclusives through Best Buy [or BB made a deal to have them made] but I don't think that will happen anymore.

The last big steelbook releases were Best Buy Exclusives of all the Marvel Infinity Saga titles in 4K and a bunch of Disney/Pixar titles in 4K. Then they were blown out either with a B2G1 or sold for $12.99-$15.99.

Later on they took a few titles and priced them below $10 to get rid of them.
yep, finally getting my copy, scalpers can eat their copies.
if the companies start doing reprints is going to be awesome, they earn more money and screw with scalpers.

Is a Win-Win scenario

Very unlikely as someone mentioned above this is a Sony release, and this isn't an uncommon trend for sony movies. Spider-man homecoming and venom had steelbooks that were sold out for over a year and a year or two they reprinted them randomly. Now their doing it again. Just a sony thing, not to say others wont ever reprint anything it's just not uncommon with sony

I received Spiderman No Way Home today, mine was from Walmart and of course showed up in a cardboard mailer... Has anyone else received theirs?
This steelbook is crazy flimsy. It's not bent or damaged, the thing just feels super flimsy, moving in and out. The lines and corners all line up great so I don't believe it is bent/damaged... I never had my hands on an original release from BB but I can't imagine this being the same steelbook.

Got mine in today from Amazon. Looks good, came in protected no spine slashes or dents that I can feel/see. Feels like a typical steelbook, not flimsy at all. Pretty happy with it.

Got mine from Amazon as well today. Was glad to see it came in a bubble mailer and not a plastic bag. Still in the shrink but it looks like it survived.

My copy from Amazon came in yesterday and I didn't notice any difference in than my copy of Thor: Love and Thunder as far as being flimsy.

With you guys getting yours and being good with them, maybe I got a one off. I am going to order another I think and see how it shows up. I got this one from Walmart so maybe I'll order one from Amazon and see if it is any different. Thanks for the feedback!

hope so. I also got Venom and Jumanji in and they felt the same. I will say, I got Thor L&T and that does feel stronger, but it could be just in my head. Tell us if its better or the same when you get it in.

Just as an update. I received my 2nd copy from Amazon and it is indeed much better. This one feels like a typical steelbook so it must have just been the first copy had an issue causing the feel it had. Now it is on par with Thor and the Fright Night steel I just got this weekend too.

Thanks for the feedback and info guys!
