Anything being released in January and February is not a good sign. I approach such movies as guilty until proven innocent. It saves a lot of time and a lot of money.

The Special Editions were released in January 1997, and did huge business. Red Tails, not so much. Strange Magic looking to a be a disappointment. 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, maybe Armond White will ride in and save the day.

It was JJ...Iger liked Lucas' treatments, said he was excited about their possibilities. JJ felt the OT cast needed a "proper send off", and that's where the conflict came from.

Default Star Wars: The Force Awakens! (Super Weapon Rumor Update!)

Major Spoiler Alert!! from the article...

The following description can be considered a pretty big SPOILER, regarding what may very well be the climax of the film. Advance at your own risk.

[Show spoiler]This item will probably invoke a bit of déjà vu for a lot of you, drawing inspiration from the movie that started it all: A New Hope. It involves a model of a “console . . . used on a Star Destroyer Bridge” that appears as though it could either be connected to the back of a wall or it could be viewed from two sides. The console shows three massive objects – the first of which is a large planet, the second of which is a smaller planet orbiting the planet in question, and the third of which is another celestial body approaching, with a targeting range.

The item we were sent is not a concept art, it’s real. We asked our friend Eli Hyder to do a sketch of it. Here it is:

Whatever the case it appears that the super weapon rumor is very far from a fan fiction. Recently one of our sources contacted us and told us the production name of that weapon:

[Show spoiler]The Weapon is planet based and it’s called “Catapult” that’s the code name and Leia needs to destroy it. They do test fire it or demonstrate it early in film.

They were sent "an object" and then had that person sketch it? Also, what they're describing appears to be an item with a screen, where the spoiler is what is on the screen. *IF* this were real, the screen would be done in post, it would be blank if it were a prop of some sort.

I call BS

Dude, all the guy did was say that he didn't like the prequels and he felt burned by them, he didn't say it in a ranting or *****ing manner, and he didn't say that Lucas ruined his childhood or anything, he was just stating how he felt. But then you responded by saying he was butthurt.

Listen, here's a suggestion, if coming to this forum really upsets you so much (and really, you should be used to the love/hate relationship many people have with the franchise by this point) then just stay away, okay! As I tried to point out in the previous post I made, do you really think that by insulting people and getting so easily frustrated all the time that you're going to solve anything or get the "hardcore haters as you call them" to go away?

Think about that for a minute.

If there is a Death Star like weapon in this film I do hope they just blow the planet up instead of orbiting it to get to the moon this time.

Oh please. If we deleted every post complaining about the prequels or saying a nasty thing about them this thread would be about 8 pages long. Call it the post that broke the camel's back. Except that happened many, many pages ago. They've already ruined the Complete Saga thread.

Lord Vader will provide us with the location of the Rebel fortress by the time this station is operational. We will then crush the Rebellion with one swift stroke.

Please, the major instigators in this thread (and others) are obviously PeterTHX and Kryptonic. They still act like crazed defenders of the faith because you keep letting them get away with it. People ought to be able to post that they hate the prequel films as much as they want unless they start insulting other members (something the two aforementioned have turned into an art).

A few limp wristed "play nice" warnings aimed at no one in particular hasn't appeared to have done the trick.

To keep this on topic:

I hate the prequels and think that calling George Lucas is a hack is an insult to hacks. He got lucky with talented collaborators and good old-fashioned serendipity. I think The Force Awakens will be a better film without a shred of his input, will wipe the floor with the Prequels, and I can't wait until December to find out.

And I was not in a fit of rage or frothing at the mouth as I wrote this.

And Kryptonic was suspended today by someone much higher in the food chain then me ~ That should say something I hope

Agreed. They're the ones who chime in with crap like "butthurt" whenever someone voices a negative opinion about a movie.

There's a lot of negativity surrounding the prequels but its directed at the prequels and not towards other members.

It often seems pretty bad on both sides of the fence.
