Dark Force - can you confirm whether you will be releasing further 70s Italian crime films in the future? I have your Death Rage Blu Ray (which I thought was great) and will be picking up Redneck shortly. There are still a wealth of great titles that haven’t even had a dvd release never mind a Blu Ray one.

Yeah, can't wait to check out Redneck. I wasn't a fan of some of the work done on Death Rage, but loved their Primal Rage release. Lets see how this one turns out.

Finished watching my copy of Redneck and really enjoyed it as I haven't seen it in maybe 10 years?

Overall I thought Darkforce did a pretty good job with the picture as the film hasn't looked this good. However, during the last 15 minutes there are some annoying vertical green lines that don't leave and made it somewhat hard to watch.

Still, never thought we would have this on Blu-ray, so there is at least that. Good flick.

Forget the green lines. I'm 20 minutes in and the noise bubble on the right side of the screen makes me want to throw the disc away!!!! When will it go away??? This disc is making me want a Severin disc, and that's a baddddd thing.

Haha. Yeah, there are some weird things going on for sure. During the dark scenes in the car during the "sex" scene there is a white smudge thing that looks like a finger print. Never seen that before.

This one for sure has a ton of issues, but it's not as bad as Death Rage when there were about a 100 green dots on the screen at once. I'm just wondering why these things can't be removed?

I watched REDNECK. The Italian version has an extra first scene with Franco Nero and a woman having sex, and then Franco in his tighty-whiteys. He also goes bare-ass later on in both cuts, but he was always an exhibitionist. A weird scene with kid actor Mark Lester recreating that naked scene is definitely not very PC these days, but those were different times. I had no issues with pic quality, but I grew up with tons of worn prints of these types of films. I can understand others not liking print damage, but it is what it is.

LIALEH was also a wild watch. A black porn 1973 XXX flick that plays sort of like a drama-musical. The title tune is catchy and played twice, once by the "famous" performer and his band. The scene where they perform the song live has a topless girl in a g-string dancing around them, but I wonder if any of the singer and band knew they were going to be in a XXX film with actual hardcore footage. I do like that song, though!!!

REDNECK is such a rare film that I am willing to cut this release a great deal of slack. The VHS release (from King of Video) looked very dupey and washed-out, and every DVD I've seen was just a bad VHS rip. I haven't seen the DF release yet but it HAS to be a major improvement, even if it has some flaws. I'm surprised DF was able to obtain any usable elements for a film like this -- it's not like the negative has been safely stored in the vaults of a major studio.

Besides, like you, I am accustomed to seeing worn release prints in repertory cinemas and second-run houses. REDNECK is a "grindhouse" movie if ever there was one, and print damage might actually enhance the experience.

Can those flaws even be removed? I know Vinegar Syndrome's release of Climax of Blue Power has black vertical lines and green stuff. They don't seem to be the type of label to release something like that unless they had to.
