Very cool. I wonder why they chose the US DC over the UK DC, which has slightly better PQ.

Because the UK Director's Cut doesn't include the Maximum Movie Mode.

The Spy Who Loved Me is done.
That leaves just one more of this marathon task.

Looks like you got the arms and elbows right this time but one of his eyebrows looks wonky

Doesn't that have more to do with Moore's inability to break out of his The Saint pose more than anything? Love the Watchmen custom btw. Wondering if I need to go that route with the new boxed set? I'd never heard that the UK DC was better than the US one. I thought that was the theatrical version, which has only been released in the UK on BD

The picture quality is slightly better on the UK Director's Cut because it doesn't have the extra space taken up by the Maximum Movie Mode that's on the US release.

Apparently.

Looks great I approve, gives covers a new approach outside of art/posters. Very clean too

If only it were so. There's something amiss with Roger's square elbow and the jacket below it, but that's the the way it was in the original artwork. Some of these things are just maddeningly sloppily put together. If I could find the original photo they based it on I would have fixed it.

Except they're not. Or just go without?

Except it still feels dumb to pay for something like this.

It's the intellectual property of someone else that's being modified and yet the modifying party feels like they can charge. I can get the whole labor intensive factor, but it still feels "off". Oh well, I'll figure a way around it.

In terms of just going without, that's simply not going to happen. That would be quitting.

These artists put a lot of time and energy into making these covers.

Also, don't forget the costs of maintaining the website and keeping all those hires files on a server. Not cheap.

That's what I meant by labor intensive. I'm just saying that the whole issue about charging for modifying IP is such a weird area that it leaves me in a 50/50 state. If it was free, I could look past much of that (who couldn't?). It's just a value assignment ideal. If I saw the direct benefit of paying for a cover, maybe I could look past the monetary requirement.

As it is, I just see a lot of time on part trying to get the cover art just right. Anyways, the endeavor has intrigued me in regards to fan produced cover art.

I gave it some thought and I figure why not? I'll make this my first attempt at trying to print one out.

you can also earn credits by uploading covers (your own work) labes, resources and scanned covers (you must clean them up a little first)

I had no issue paying for the Watchmen cover on the previous page. I got the cover art created to my exact specifications, featuring the discs I wanted in the set.

That's how I ended up seeing it. I thought I could piece back the original cover together or just craft a better one with the help of some talented online artists.

What's the point of moaning about how it came to be?
