A stretch that I really like!

It looks like Nausicaa, but that shot of Fonda also looks like it too.

But then "You know, the house in the back could be a Castle in the Sky! The thing in the water is Ponyo!" That stuff. Disney is still putting out their Ghibli movies on Blu-ray slowly-I can't see them partnering up with another label to do the older ones.

Now Llewyn Davis. . .that is as clear a drawing of him as their drawing of Carlos a couple of years ago. It's practically the poster image again.

Maybe they're putting it out for the extras? Or maybe CBS Films wants to branch out a little? Or maybe they want a Coens and this is the only one they could get? Or maybe they're pairing it up with another Coen film?

That title is owned by Westchester Films and not Merchant-Ivory; so it wouldn't have been affected by the lawsuit a few years back that pulled Howard's End and their HVE line out of print.

Disney would NEVER let Criterion release a movie they have the rights to. So let's just end this Nausicaa release idea right here and now. It is never going to happen. So what else could she represent? Let's move on... We need other ideas!

I immediately got a Barry Lyndon vibe from those soldiers.

I'm convinced it's a double clue for The Big Clock and One, Two, Three. It is a big clock and the title is in need of an upgrade. And what else could the time setting refer to but the Wilder film? Confirms some speculation in another forum in 10/14 that One, Two, Three was coming from CC.

Disney does license some of their Wes Anderson films produced under Touchstone Pictures to Criterion,
Also, Disney has given the rights to some soundtracks to Intrada, where we have the Disney/Intrada line..
OF course films is another story but...

Anyway, what other movie there is with an armed woman?
I think she appears to have dynamites too.

The rebar?
Seems like a largish stretch. One I'd be OK with

LOL. I acknowledged that it didn't make any sense, but it does look like Nausicaä. Bring on the other ideas.

If Inside Llewyn Davis is coming, I would hope that Barton Fink and The Man Who Wasn't There are coming soon as well.

Inside Llewyn Davis and The New World don't make any sense either. Until somebody can suggest something better, it's Nausicaä as far as I am concerned!

They both make way more sense than Nausicaa.

Disney doesn't own the distribution rights for the existing Star Wars movies, at least not yet.

Fox owns the rights to the original and prequel trilogies until 2020, and they hold the rights to the original movie permanently. Unless Disney buys them out, but I can't imagine Fox will ever let go of that goldmine.

Well, Criterion confirmed that The New World is coming, so I'd say there's a pretty good connection there...
