Happy Friday the 13th back to you and everyone!

I must remember to try out Harry's Hofbrau someday. I have heard about it and it sounds like a restaurant I wild enjoy. And for the record, I was in Ireland 4 years ago today and Germany 2 years ago today

*Sighs* Realizing just how depressing my life is right now, my daughter asked if she could go to a haunted house/Halloween party with a friend then spend the night with said friend. My fiancee has to work this weekend so she won't be coming up tonight, my old buddies are either married with kids or out of town so this leaves me sitting here alone with nothing to do tonight.

Stressing over a potential job interview tomorrow. Target is doing an in-store hiring event for seasonal work this weekend. The cashier who told me about it the other day said if I filled out an application online before coming in, it would go quicker because they'd already have that to look up on the computer. I filled one out last night and this evening I need to go buy some nice clothes to wear. Would love to get lucky and get offered a job on the spot (I applied to just work stock), but I haven't done a job interview for a long time and am already stressing over it because I don't have as much work experience as I should.

don't be stressing.

just be yourself and be honest with your answers or comments. if that's not good enough for them (or anyone else, for that matter), then it's best you don't work there. i've found that out long ago. don't try to be something they want you to be just to get a job.

but you'll do fine.

Yeah Michael, as sk33tr said don't stress over it, it's a retail job just before the holiday season, assuming you have a pulse you'll likely get the job!

Good luck, man. 'Not stressing' is easier said than done, I know. Try and take a couple of moments to breathe, though. It's surprising how much that can help at times.

A chaotic neutral character is an individualist who follows their own heart and generally shirks rules and traditions. Although chaotic neutral characters promote the ideals of freedom, it is their own freedom that comes first; good and evil come second to their need to be free.

So I went to the hiring event Saturday morning. I checked in, had like a short little pre-interview of sorts with the guy at the desk, discussed the duties and hours of the position, etc. (The hours weren't what I was expecting. 12am-8am instead of during the day like I would have preferred, but I figured whatever; I'm a night owl anyway.) He scheduled me for an interview around noon, which was only about an hour or so later, so I did some shopping and came back. I was actually feeling pretty confident, something I hardly ever feel, until I finally got called up and the actual interview started. From there, I could tell it just went to hell. My answers sounded rambling and stammering, and I could just feel my confidence sinking fast and low. They said they'd let me know in another day or two but I'd be shocked if I got offered a spot.

Sorry to hear that Michael. It's been several years since I've gone to an interview but I know how hard they can be. Hopefully the next time you post in this thread, it will be to tell us that you go the job

My fingers are still crossed for you. Although 12am - 8am... Yikes. You sound better than that!

I wouldn't really mind those hours. Like I said, I tend to be a night owl anyway, plus it would mean I wouldn't have to worry about dealing with customers. Just unloading the trucks, restocking shelves, setting up displays, moving merchandise around, etc. If I lasted beyond seasonal (I was told they usually keep about 10-15 people after seasonal ends), I could eventually try to switch to a day shift, too.

How come in England people say "mum" instead of "mom" because when you think about it, it doesn’t make much sense...

The full word is mother. The American way to shorten it is mom, which keeps the first two letters. But in England it’s mum, which only keeps the first letter.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to keep the first two letters (since 2 is better than 1)?

After reading the BR and 4K UHD reviews of Spider-Man on this site, wondering if I should have sprung the extra money for the 4K disc.
